Which would be the easier of the 2? LS1 with the 4l60e and all the wiring harness and ecm. Or go with a 400 sbc and use my TPI and 700r4? Which is easiest to do? Which is less expensive? I have a 1992 Z28 BTW.

Less expensive is 400 sbc and tpi, and easier

Better in the long run IMO is the ls1 :P

Well a 400 sbc bolts right in but theres a LOOOOOT of things you have to change and beef up to handle the extra grunt. Say goodbye to your stock tranny and the TPI is choking on the 350 so plan on major intake swap/mods there. Be sure you get a good block a lot of them crack.

this obviously depends on what you can get your lsx setup for but in most instances i'ver seen and personally gone through i'd rate the lsx the cheapest swap, easiest swap and most overall gains in every single aspect for the money.

tunning is a huge issue. unless your going dfi or some other digital form the 730 ecms just don't work as easily. you can not beat the lsx swap true dollar for dollar.

now if you get ripped off on the purchase of your parts or installation obviously that's a different story but if you get a fair price your golden.

I am with Kandied for sure. I have done 3 motor swaps in my 87 and i think the ls1 swap was just as easy as putting in any of my other sbc's. The gains in power, weight reduction, and drivability are amazing. I sold my radical 355 and put in a stock cam only ls1 and will be in the high 10's with stock drivability. and my old radical motor could only get into the high 11's. I even had to use an accel dfi, hsr and alot of other stuff. LS1 FTW!!!!!!!!!!
