95 roadmaster 4l60e reply ASAP!
Will this tranny fit with a 95 impala ss harness? This is going into my 85TA. I know I have to use the tailshaft from my 700r4, but is there anything else I need to do? Going to buy it tomorrow if it will work with my combo.
This is a lt1 swap project in case your confused

Why? swap the vss from 4l60 housing onto the 700 housing. Will this not work?

I don't know if the 4L60E VSS will fit in the 700R4 tailshaft housing. But yeah, all I'm worried about is the VSS not being able to work.

as of right now I still have a mech speedo, but I have the newer elec. gauge cluster to swap in. I know I need to repin the connector to match the new cluster. I think I still need to find a vss box though. Or can I splice into speedo wires from the pcm and put a convertor box on that to make the stock elec. gauges work?
Anyone know if the vss sensor from a 4l60e fits a 700r4 tail housing?

You don't need a VSS box unless Camaro electronic speedos are different than firebird speedometers.
Just connect the 4L60E VSS to the VSS input on the LT1 PCM(computer) and connect the VSS output from the LT1 PCM to the electronic speedo.

It might fit but the 4L60E VSS has a flange on it that is bolted down with one bolt. I'm worried that the bolt keeps the VSS in a specific position and worried that the 700R4 housing doesn't have a spot for the bolt.

If it doesn't have the spot for the bolt couldn't I just drill one?

Ive got a F-body tail shaft housing on my '96 Impala 4L60e. The electronic speedo fits the housing perfectly, and the F-body tailshaft housing does have the bolt that holds the speedo in.
