Hi guys, i both back my old 91z28. The car going to be a father and son project. Now i want to have your feedback about the options that have.
The goal is to have a car that can be driven in the street not daily driver that
can go deep into the low 10s to high 9s.
The 2 options that i have in mind is one 1st generation motor with Fuel Injection like miniram or superram intake with turbo.Second go with turbo lsx
motor. The alredy had a 9" ford rear end and a good tranny. But i have diside wich way to go with the powerhouse! I appreciate any ideas you can give me. thanks.

Running near single-digits isn't going to be cheap or easy regardless of which route you take - but it'll be a LOT harder with a Gen-I engine. Major "ingredients" of the project could include the following:

* An iron 6L block (LQ4 or LQ9) - or, ideally, an LSx block if funds allow, then you're golden;
* A stroker crank, & forged bottom end;
* A set of Mamo-worked AFR heads would help a LOT (I'd also see what they'd suggest in terms of a camshaft);
* A good single-plane intake set up for EFI;
* A "non-chintzy" turbo setup of your choice (meaning no cheap ebay turbos, etc.);
* A built TH400 (yes, some people are using newer transmissions now, but this one has been completely "sorted out" & should be completely reliable at this power level);
* A 12-bolt or F*rd 9" rear - your choice, they seem to be within 1-2% power-wise;
* Significant weight reduction;
* An adjustable & relocated torque arm, as well as LCA relocation brackets, at a minimum for the suspension;
* And good tires couldn't hurt...

Now there are a lot of different opinions on this, but I'd think that this sure ought to get you in the neighborhood...

Pops the best advice I can give is run... run.... Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from ANY TPI based set up. Tuning requirements alone will kill you thos old systems are DUMB and just never run properly. If you want to stay small block go straight to BIGSTUFF3 and build around that OS. LS1 stock computer management is good though so you can use it to control boosted set ups pretty solidly. Not as well as BIGSTUFF mind you but for a ten second car its pretty cake these days.
