Swap parts

So I've made a list, and am ready to buy. Going LSx into my 1991 Z28 305TPI/Auto....

Plan is a 6.0/TH400...carb most likely, but will consider going EFI and nitrous.

Spohn LSx motor mounts
Spohn TH400 crossmember with torque arm and D/S loop
Kooks or SW 1 7/8'' headers
4th gen tank and sending unit
Larger stock fit griffin radiator
LS Fbody oil pan

I already have the motor and trans.

Does that sound like a decent setup? Intake will either be a Holley carb LS single plane with 800-850 carb....or a LS6 with TB. Not sure how much easier the carb swap is over EFI with these cars. Just started researching. Any suggestions? Thanks

I also have a 4th gen roller I could build but I'm really stuck on the 91 Z28 I recently bought. The 4th gen would be easier...but I swear the third gen keeps growing on me...

Personally I would leave the 91 as is. It's a gorgeous car, and TPI cars are getting harder and harder to find. If you really must have a 3rd gen LS, sell the 4th gen roller and get a 3rd gen roller for the LS swap.

However, I would build the 4th gen roller. The build will be cheaper in the long run considering exhaust and wiring versus a swap harness and custom headers. Stock suspension can be re-used on the 4th gen, much easier than modding the 3rd gen to work with the 4th gen AC, and modding/finding springs to get the nose level after the LS swap. Sacrificing a good running stock '91 TPI car to go with a carbed LS just doesn't make sense IMO.

Spohn K-member is a complete waste of metal. The main hoop is notched to clear the tierods at ride height, but still contacts at bump/droop. The main hoop is the lowest part of the car, far below the exhaust. You WILL drag speed bumps. They offer a LSx K-member, but send it with support brackets to use the OEM triangles. Using a Fbody alt, the drivers bracket much be cut off and using low mount AC, the pass much be cut off. FWIW, using the stock K-member, the drivers side clears no mods. Mixed bag on wheel location. Some people report stock, some shift F/R quite a bit
Its a hunk of crap

Spohn/hawks swap stands work but the engine isnt 100% level. Not a big deal to build your own, atleast one side or just deal with the lean. When people post about the pass collector hanging low with SSWs, this is the reason

SBC adapter plates level the engine out, but interfere with low mount AC. There are cheap and nice sets and info to make your own. You want 1" setback plates if going this route

I wouldnt run a tubular A-arm on the street. They do not affect the conversion though
