LS2 T56 Swap from a GTO
I have can 85 iroc z. My T5 tranny is on its way out because I can not keep my foot out of it. So I have been looking around and a t56 transmission are going for about 1500 plus around where I live. So I was thinking I could buy a wrecked 05 gto and take the engine and tranny and put it into my iroc. I want to convert the ls2 to a carb. I just prefer to have a carb since this is my street/weekend car. I have been doing some research and from what I can tell all I need to swap the tranny is an aftermarket cross member for the t56 and the shifter. As for the ls2 swap and conversion I would need a ls2 carb intake and a msd 6012 box for the ignition. And this would be topped off with a 750 cfm edelbrock carb. Is all I really need or am I in over my head? My goal is to make 450 ft pounds of torque at the crank. Thank you guys for your help.

Re: LS2 T56 Swap from a GTO
Unless you're building a hair-on-fire engine, it doesn't make any sense to me to convert to carb (and even if you are building a hair-on-fire engine, I can make an argument for staying EFI).
But then you say Edelbrock carb? Man, that don't make no sense.
