LT1, Megasquirt 3x, Seq Fuel/Spark lS2 coils Success!

Relatively stock LT1, LS2 Coils via EFIConnections brackets, Using the Optispark as my crank/cam sensor.

Running Megasquirt 3x.

I have no pictures or anything yet, just throwing it out there that it's been done.
Seems to work great and not super difficult, my tuning on the other hand is a different story!

Does anyone have any Megasquirt tuning experience?

Sounds similar to a LTCC http://www.bailey-eng.com/LTCC.html But with a Megasquirt. Sounds cool. Anymore details?

Re: LT1, Megasquirt 3x, Seq Fuel/Spark lS2 coils Success!

Basically you get yourself a Megasquirt 3 with the 3x addon. I got mine from DIYAutoTune.com
You get yourself your choosing of coil near plug logic coils (any of the LS coils for example). I chose EFIConnection's LS2 coils/brackets package D514a coils (24x/58x set up not required)
I followed a combination of DIYAutotune's tech article and also the article in the Megasquirt's megamanual on the Optispark.
When you're done (fairly straight forward) you have your optispark still working but the high voltage distributor aspect is not used. It just keeps track of the timing and the Megasquirt triggers the coils itself. Custom plug wires are required but if you have a spare set of plug wires with 90deg plug boots laying around (ie stock/stock replacements) you can buy the tool and the coil ends from Summit for less than $80.
The conversion isn't free, you need
Megasquirt 3x computer (either diy package or already built) $660 pre-built
MS3 harness (10ft of labeled wire with a db37 connector on one end for the PCM) $80
MS3x harness (same deal, 10ft with db37) $80
EFIConnection coil bracket and coils, with 2 pigtails for the coil harness -$550
JimStim Stimulator for bench testing $45 for diy
Uses a variety of sensors, but loves the GM sensors ie stock
Relay board if you don't have enough of the stock wiring left or going from non-efi

..why do it? a claimed 10-13hp gain (questionable but hey, stickers alone are 1hp each)
..real reason, to control an engine that the stock PCM won't, gain control live of the PCM, eliminate the optispark high voltage stuff
ECM will control almost everything and anything, dual fuel, N2O, Boost, VVT, VSS, launch control, FAN etc etc.
open source..
I'm not using N2O for example so I can software change that output to control fan #2.. and turn it on based on any input and any value, IE coolant temp >195deg etc
uses MAP instead of MAF, although you can use both.
