Torque arm Bushing

I was wondering if I can bolt the torque arm directly to the Holley crossmember without using the bushing? As the pic shows, there isn't much clearance to the output flange.

Re: Torque arm Bushing

no, it needs to float in the bushing... it is a tight fit. see post #20 in my thread below as i needed to work through this as well

Re: Torque arm Bushing

Very informative post. Your problem was the opposite of my problem. You needed to add spacers. I need to move to the left, or trim the bushing. I need to find the diameter of the adapter flange and trim down the bushing to fit. I am using the stock torque arm which is pretty thin where it connects to the cross member. I should be able to trim the bushing down by about a third and still have enough meat left to do the job.

Re: Torque arm Bushing

Call Holley tech and confirm but most mounts the arm goes on the left (as looking at your picture), which gets in to the trans tunnel. This requires a big hammer to correct.

The arm looks like it will mount in the correct location. There would be no problem with a standard slip joint driveshaft. It was not made for a flange driveshaft. That is why I need to modify it.

Re: Torque arm Bushing

I stand corrected, correct location is to the right (as looking at the picture).
