Bad AZz Z28

I wasnt sure of my plan for the cooling system. Originally I hoped to reuse the stock fans, but they take up a lot of room, dont have a shroud, and connect in a weird way, so they were out. I should have stuck to sourcing 4th gen radiator/fan combo and being done, but I thought I was making things better for myself when I found the BeCool Boneyard LS swap radiator series. Brand new 3" aluminum US made radiator for LS swaps?? Great. Except the 31x17x3 is a half inch too wide to fit. And they dont have a 30", so I had to exchange for a 28. Ok, fine, it fits, so now I need a fan/shroud combo....Oh wait, fan/shroud combos either dont exist for these radiators, or they are 4x more expensive than the radiator was. WTF. So I went junkyard diving. I came across some dual removable fan w/ shroud combos off random FWD GM cars like saturns and Oldsmobiles. The ones I found are nice and slim, but not quite big enough, so I couldnt give it full coverage. I also needed a way to attach them, so I cut down the shrouds to fit tight, then welded on bungs to the radiator so it can bolt up tight. Then I had to make a mount to hold this in place in the car, and I hate the mount I made, so that will get a revisit at some point. And the radiator cap is on the wrong side, so I had to trim/weld up a little piece of the radiator support and re-route my overflow line. This was the biggest clusterf*ck of the whole car project, and for no payout, as I dont think I made it better than the cheap/fast solution I should have picked. But at least I didnt pay over $1000 for a radiator and fans, bc that is insane. I'll do this 5 times for $200 and a bunch of aggravation instead. I did make up some coolant lines in stainless though, and I like how 50% of those came out. Sometimes trial and error falls in the error category, so I'll show it. It should work fine, but eventually....

I also bought a steam vent line kit thinking it would be easier, wrong again. it really didnt fit my parts well, being a tight fit and always getting in the way of sensors and other ports. I ended up buying some extra fittings and elbows to get the lines to clear, and that added to the price. Coolant was the big anchor to this project, for no good reason.
