I like the wheels,
Buggy: if you like em keep em.
I believe in respecting everyone's opinion.
But I dont believe in having to agree with them.
If I like the way something looks on my car then Im sticking with it no matter what someone else says.
Because at the end of the day thats what matters thats what makes everyone in this world "unique" if everyone had the exact same thought process then you would see nothing but stock camaro's. and honestly It would just be boring. I have probably seen thousands of thirdgens on this website by now but that still doesnt stop me from coming back everyday because I know that im goin to see something new everytime...
anyways sorry for the rant on your thread buggy
you have a really nice car

Thanks for the compliments and words of wisdom Lmancha96. I like the wheels alot. Especially the fact that the wheels are unique, however at one point in time they will be sold and replaced with chrome 18/19 C6 Z06 wheels with atleast a 3XX/X/19 rear tire, after the Ls1/T56 swap. That's my dream thirdgen.
Update,
I clay barred the car and gave it a 3 stage detail. Rubbing Compound in small areas, full polish, then wax. The paint looks like glass now.
I finished my ram air mod and love it. I have yet to take out the ducting, paint it all black so that it's not noticeable, then reinstall the fog lights. Here are some pics.

Thanks BadNBlk. The car has new springs on it, and I removed the rear isolators. I think the next step is to cut a little off the springs, which will be taken care of this week. It needs a solid 1" drop, maybe a tad more.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
Just saw your build thread, car is looking good. I dunno if you remember my car but I'm running cut Eibachs right now... I wouldn't reccomend taking too much off until you get some stiffer struts/springs. It doesn't look that low but where it is at in the pic I have maybe an inch until it hits the stock bump stops front/back. You can't drop these cars like you can others without huge mods.
Also I'm running C4 HD (13") front brakes if you want to check them out sometime. If you already have big wheels though you could go bigger, but you might want to do all 4 corners cause the rears will start looking real small (they are 10.5" in comparism). LS1 brakes are a good cheaper option too, anything dual piston is a big step up for these cars.
Looks like you are making good progress on the car though, keep it up. I vote black pockets/grill with that color as well, don't change the car color though, thats a very nice very rare color.

I remember your car from the show. I think a solid 1" should be fine before I need lca's, adj arms and so on. Im lost as far as brakes go. I don't know what I should get, but would like to find something local.
What wheels are those? They look good, especially in front of those C4 brakes.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
The LCA's relocation brackets and adjustable panhard bar fix the suspension geometry. If you jack up the back look at the way it is set up, as your car gets lower the rear end gets pushed to the side (you will see this in the gaps as well). You will want that stuff eventually but can do without it. The stock shocks struts are pretty weak though, the lower you go the closer to the rubber you are and you can bottom out on even small bumps. Even if you just get some GR-2's or something it would help, but if you have stockers it is gonna be like Mr. Toads Wild Ride! Again you can wait, but once you do it you probably wont be real happy with the ride.
Thank you, they are iForged Aero's. Only took me 10 years to get some new rims lol.

Could have been? I live in Marietta but I go up to the Caffiene and Octane show up in North Alpharetta every once in a while, and have friends/family in Duluth area. Car was a daily driver up until late December.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
Ever sense I have owned the car I have not been able to come up with a solid plan wich I need in order to stop procrastinating. Vaguely in my mind a had the idea of ls1/t56 swap. That's fine and dandy and all, but what about the other stuff? Suspension and brakes; I would be flat out broke.
So after hours of researching and putting things together here is what I have come up with.
Here is the list of things I will be tackling, in order most likely:
Black head light buckets. I need that Bad A look.
Redo the grille with a less "flashy" bowtie. Stock is fine, but I want unique.
Lower it, add some decent shocks and ADJ panhard bar while at it
tint the 3 windows to 35%
While all this is in place the TSW wheels are on CL, I will look for a 18/19 wheel combo.
Performance wise
A somewhat built 350 with cam, decent heads, full exhaust
Lt1 T56
3:73 or 3:42, whatever rear end suits me best.
In the end result, I want a sweet looking Camaro with that old school cammed SBC sound that can be daily driven.

EDIT: Also, what wheels do you have in mind for if and when you sell the TSWs?

That's what I had in mind, but I was going to buy a whole new grille and bowtie. I tend to over think things. haha. I will plasti dip the bowtie and leave the chrome outline, that's a good idea.
I am thinking Intro GT like this car. Or another similar wheel that is actually affordable. grngryoutmyway's wheels are sick, but cost a fortune.

I like the Intro GT's but they are a tad expensive. If the Intros are a little steeply priced, then check out American Racing's AR898's.
These are 18's on a 90's Silverado.
Straight Wheel Shot
Some white letter tires and those bad boys would look wicked. I know next to nothing about wheels and compatibility, so I can't vouch how or if they fit, but I thought they would be an alternative.

The C5 and C6 DD wheels look pretty similar and are affordable, but you will have to run spacers. You could also keep an eye out for used wheels like I did, still expensive though.
I think the TSW's look fine on it though. Keep in mind sometimes things take time. Save your money, and start buying parts in the meantime. You can piece together the suspension stuff, buy a used engine, get the machine work, parts ect spread over time.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
I wasn't looking for new wheels. Just something used, I might even take the money I get from the TSW's and put that toward engine/suspension, if they actually sell.
I'm planning on finding a newly rebuilt 350, however there aren't many on CL. Rebuilding my 305 to a 350 isn't too bad of an option either. I would know exactly what I have, and would know it will last. I don't plan on doing anything with the motor until mid to late summer though.
IW-33 I like those wheels, but I'm thinking of a single 5 spoke wheel this time around.

I think before I sell the wheels I should noticeably lower the whole car and see how it looks.
Here is a photoshopped pic.

One slammed while I was at it.
Nobody wants to paint my headlight buckets. The people that do want to charge over $300 wich is absurd, IMO. It seems like an easy job for someone that knows what they are doing. Around how much would you guys pay?

I would pay.. whatever the paint costs! Get some spray on plasti dip and try it yourself. If you mess it up or don't like it you can just peel it off. If you do like it and are comfortable after your trial just peel it off, prep it and get some real paint.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
cIaRmOaCrZo, I was on the fence when I bought them. I got an amazing deal on them so I figured why not. They have grown on me. But I think C6 Z06's would look killer.
Update:
I had the windows tinted with 35%. I also plasti dipped the front grille and painted the bowtie black. With the plasti dip I threw on some GS stripes on the driver side just for kicks. It looked pretty cool, but didn't go with the "theme" of the car. So I peeled them off about a week later.
I took a trip up to Road Atlanta to watch a buddy race. I had a great time and snapped some shots. These were taken on the "infield" of the track.

I love the car and the wheels look good. Maybe a wider rear tire would look better. The tires on the rear look to small to me.

Thanks for the complements. I wish I could of drove it on the track, the cost to do that is
IrocGirrafe, it was pretty cool to see the track in person after years and 1000's of Forza laps around Road Atlanta.
tn89s10, thanks. When I first got the wheels I was running a 275 rear wich looked sweet, however it rubbed the fender a little and I refused to have it rolled or the inner fenders hammered, so it was replaced with a 255.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
Thanks guys! I have another update.
The old Monroe Sensacrap struts went out. I replaced them with KYB GR2's and while I was at it I replaced the front springs with Moog 5662's. I'm going to let them settle, then I'm going to cut them to the ride height I want.

Psychoz28 that looks sweet! Those are the wheels I want!
Well guys I went out looking for a T5 trans. I found one that I think I will buy. The guy has all of the parts for the conversion. I thought about getting a T56 but I don't think it really atters. When I go LS neither trans will bolt right up to the LS motor.
I got a quote from Kauffman tire of $650 dollars to replace parts to get rid of my steering wheel play. I went home, adjusted the steering box, what a difference! I had about 2 or more inches of play, now I have none. It took me 10 minutes. If you have play in your steering that should be the first thing to do.

I replied to that other thread. I believe it is a GSP Cutout. I bought it used so I'm not too sure. It works great though! I have no problems with it. The install was pretty easy. I didn't even have directions when I wired it up.

If you're going to go through all of the trouble of adding a slave cylinder and pedal, it makes more sense to me to only have to do it once, as opposed to twice. The T5 and T56 use different slaves and some people have even had to use the 4th gen pedals. No, it's not a direct bolt up to the 305, but why do something twice?

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
I took everyones advice on the trans into consideration, however I went with a T5. I bought a donor car that has ALL of the parts needed for the swap. I got it for a good deal and he even guarantees the parts for a couple of months. All of the T56's alone, just the tranny, around here go for double of what I paid. I will be BANGIN through the gears next week. that will be the actual "start" of my build.
I plastidipped the headlight buckets to see if I liked the look. It gave the car more of a mean and 80's look. Which I liked, but then again wasn't too sure. I felt the black buckets took away from the paint job and to fix that I think they need more of a gloss look. I peeled them off a a couple of weeks later. A shop told me that gloss buckets will show the wavyness of the bumper. Is this true? I would imagine so.
I did paint both buckets, just dont have any pics.
After looking at the pictures, I think the bumpiness of the plastidip is what took away from the paint job.
What are your thoughts?
Black Buckets with semi gloss (factory), gloss, or leave them body color?

What you have in your picture is the way I'd keep it. I just like things to be the way they were from the factory. Plus I believe it looks better. But it's your car. If your happy with it, keep it.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28
I did the T56 swap in mine and I love it. But my car was also born a stick car so it was just a matter of swapping the trans cross member and TQ arm. you may one day decide to do it. It was a mod well worth the price
I would go Black Semi-gloss on the buckets for that factory look

Yeah, paint them semi-gloss black. Third gen Camaros don't look right without black headlight buckets.
