Ill post up pictures as I go. I plan on lowering the car this week to get a more aggressive stance too, then find some large disc brakes.

Great year, great color, but the wheels are iffy for me. And lowering it sounds like a good idea.

BTW, interior looks very clean.

Nice car!

Re: My first car- 91 z28

Thanks for the complements guys.

Blue1990camaro- Dont be so quick to judge. I'm aware I bought a camaro and not a crown vic. After all they are just wheels. I can take 15 minutes and swap the stockers on, or better yet the c6 z06 wheels I have in the basement(just need tires for the vette's) Believe me, I don't like the look of unporportional wheels on any car.

New pictures coming tomarrow.

Yeahp, thats why they are in the basement. I wasnt sure if they were going to fit, but today I test fitted, or attempted to test fit. I would need like a 4" spacer just to clear, and then it will stick out a good 2" past the fender. So they are going on CL and I'll find some C5 wheels instead.

Thanks LivinLarge. They are chrome, but are going up FS.

Yah. Some C5s would fit just fine. 17X10 is best.

Re: My first car- 91 z28

I'm going to order some new lowering springs and another set of shocks tonight. I want about a 1.5" drop in the front, and about 1" for the rear.

Ground control weight jacks seem to be a pretty nice investment. But I'm having a hard time finding info on them.

Heres a couple more pictures.

I'm going to wrap the box in the same color carpet to match the interior. And maybe add a custom Z28 badge.

Re: My first car- 91 z28

Carefull. If you drop the front end you are going to junk the crack outta the front GFX. get some ajustable shocks and springs for the front, so you can lower it when going to shows, and lift it when going to the store. It'll be worth the extra cash. because it will save you having to replace and paint the front ground fx.l

Those wheels actually would look nice if the car was lowered.

They look like Shawngr18's. (I think that's his username)

Skelitor117, I was kind of wondering about that. You have any links/setup that you would recommed?

IW-33, Yeah man, I hope it makes the car look alot better. And they are similiar to Shawngr18's wheels. His camaro is awesome. I basicaly want his exact stance.

I don't have any links on hand, as I have yet to delve into the world of suspension. Just type "Ajustable Suspensuion Fitment" or the like into the search engine here. Your bound to come across something. Also search through the suspension board to see what comes up.

Re: My first car- 91 z28

Are those wheels 19's? They actually look really good and will look better when lowered a little bit.. I would say take the side molding off and be done with the appearance. What is the bowtie on your grille off of?

I think they are 18's, but don't quote me on that. (Metaphorically and literally lol)

And yes, I'd like to know where you got the front grille bowtie as well.

Re: My first car- 91 z28

I'm not a fan of aftermarket stereos on 91 92s since their harder to find and lower production. & don't like the wheels but its your car, just keep the stock wheels and whatever parts you change on it for future reference, in case you ever sell it. You can have an easier time. Not a lot of people myself included that would pay for a Z28 modded to someone else's liking Without parts to put it back.

That's a gorgeous car man, I think lowering it would make it look great, along with some clear front side markers. Awesome first car, take good care of it and be careful with it! Oh I also think tinted windows would also look nice, keep it clean!

Re: My first car- 91 z28

Thanks for all the comments guys. Sorry for the late response.

For those wondering the PO bought a chevy bowtie front licensce plate, removed the bowtie and bent it to match grille insert.

I installed the new springs. The car handles like a dream now. Hopefully when they settle it will lower just a little more. Now I'm in the market for some large disc brakes, but I need to do more research to see exactly what I want.

Earlier I realized how bad the pictures in my original post were, so I went out and took some new pictures.

Re: My first car- 91 z28

I changed the title inorder to keep record of my progress since I plan to own the car for a while. I will now post further mods that I do to it.

I agree Phenom-1, I think I might try vynil wrap for the headlight buckets. Id like to remove it if I don't like the look.

Thanks, they are eibachs with a small spacer on top of the rear spring to give it a nice stance. I'm not sure on the shocks, but the owner of a shop had a set on his camaro and loved them, so he reccomended them and installed them as part of a deal.

I finally covered the subwoofer box in vynil that matched the interior plastics.

I also cleaned up the engine bay with some painting and polishing, and did the cold/ram air mod while I was under the hood. After doing my homework, I decided to go with a cammed LS1 with full boltons next summer.

Thanks guys

I hid the amp underneath the area where it was mounted.

I clay barred the car and threw on some good wax and the paint looks better than it ever has. The only problem is, the sun hasn't been out since Monday.

Re: My First Car Build- 91 z28

Thanks again for the complements!

I know phenom-1, I'm still concemplating on the black head light buckets. I'm thinking of plastidipping them just to see if I like the look.If I do like the look I will have them professionally painted the right color. Im also torn between keeping the headlights the body color and painting the grille black, or just painting the buckets. There is too much red paint up front.

Gsoleski, the fronts are 255/35 and the rears are 275/45.

I think the black buckets and black grille would look awesome! And maybe paint the bowtie the car color to blend everything.

Idk if this is too blunt...but I'm guessing your fresh out of high school. I myself am in my third year of college..... But where the he'll are you getting the money for an ls!!??? Haha. This is my first car too since 2009, and I still haven't been able to get headers. Is there a budgeting secret someone isn't telling me? Or does it just suck to live in Jersey? Haha. I've talked to you a few times on other posts. Liked your car since I joined as well. Keep up the nice work.

Thanks IROCgiraffe.

Livin Large, I think you hit the nail on the head. Black buckets and grille with a body colored bowtie. I think it will give it a way more agressive look, and still be unique from other thirdgens due to the "custom" bowtie.

I'm a senior in highschool. Honestly, I've been busting my butt off over the past summers mowing lawns and doing other side jobs. I've just been saving my pennies for a while.

Well more power to ya. I think your car will look good with black buckets and grill insert, and body color bowtie. Looking forward to pics when the time comes.

I would get rid of that gold oversized bowtie, and put it back to how it came from the factory, paint or vinyl wrap the headlamp buckets in black, paint the grill black and put on the original Bright Red Bowtie on

also now that I mention it, if you ever thought of painting it another color I'd go with Black, it's not too often that I see a Black Z28 with the Tan interior let alone in cloth, and it would give that Z28 a nice combo look
