Re: The resurrection 84 z28
Well guys and gals i have some pretty big updates to share, some happy and others sad. All my parts finally showed up from Spohn about mid January and while i wasn't happy with the answers i got about when my stuff would show up, which was literally "we don't know when it will ship" the stuff looks like pure sex! also some sad news the 84 is going back to its prior owner, 86blackiroc on here. i want to race more than i can put into words and no matter what i do life just keeps getting in the way of me having time for all that fab work. plus no having a welder at the house etc kills me too. i did buy another car and will keep this going with that cars body. i picked up a 87 iroc-z with 8x,xxx miles on it, sucks to chop it up into a ls street strip car due to it really being a cool car. its a g92 optioned LB9 car with cars&concepts T-tops and delco bose sound system in it. i have sold a bunch of stuff already from this car and am going to put the whole 84 z28 body kit and dash in this car. i picked this thing up for $200 and its pretty damn solid, while not perfect its light years ahead of the 84 body wise. i have changed up all my plans quite a bit due to wanting to get to racing this year and aiming for 8 second passes. car is still gonna be a fullish weight t56 car and have a ls in it, i have a gen 4 5.3 that's going in it with a custom spec'd cam and i may put some decent heads on it, if i can find used gen4 4.8 flat top pistons then I'm going to go that route as well to bump compression up some. the 5.3 is going to get a set of BorgWarner s366 turbos mounted in the cars factory gas tank location as i am running a fuel cell in the trunk sump. I'm hoping to get close to 1000whp and get some 8 second passes out of it, this is for sure the cheapest and quickest way to meet my goal. I'm over waiting and being left out, this year is my year. I am with a HEAVY heart giving up on the 84 but i just don't have the time, it was a very rough decision to make but a necessary one unfortunately... now pics of the 87!!

Updates again, I've been holding out on you guys! lol 87 was pulled into shop and I fixed its one spot of under body rust, the wife wire wheeled the whole under side of the car so it was free on surface rust and it got the sub frame connectors welded in and a coat of etch primer, it was going tom get some lizard skin ceramic coating as well but we ran out of baby sitter time and had to leave. I was very pissed off lol no instead of letting the etch flash for 30min and putting the lizard skin directly over top, I've got to prep the whole under side so the lizard skin will adhere to the bottom of the car ughh... well here is some pics boys and girls!!
repair completed
some driver side rust
damage to the passenger quarter

Also must add that I weighed some parts the other night, was very happy to have the k-frame come in at 32lbs!!! the torq arm feels heavy as **** and came in at like 35 or 36, I was surprised it was that light.
