Another Project Form..my 1987 GTA

This is my 1987 GTA T/A story. I got it when I was 14..did a small resto on it and drove it. Well the car has set since last November with out the engine. The car started out as my DD in high school. TPI 350 with the 700R4. My senior year my dad and I put a little bit of nitrous on it. Car when high 12s on the a 100 shot. Well last Nov. I raced an 03 Cobra..mid to low 11s car. Change the jets out..and that was the last night she ran..And no I didnt beat him..had him till the 1000ft..then pop! Since then Iv striped the car down, put a cage in it, and the car is sitting in primer. Boyds Racing in Oklahoma build my engine. 350 .40 over. Eagle stroker kit. SPS Pistons Comp Cams .630 lift/ 262 dur. cam. Brodix heads, Wiend High rise and a Demon 750. Ohh can cant forget about my Moroso 7qt. Oil Pan that adds like 500 horse to the TIRE. lol.. Tranny...havent got that far but Im going to use Promforma Build Stage 3 700R4. Take a look at my cardomain site to get a better look at the old junker..lol I cant post more than 3 pics at a time...

honestly, I wish I went with the 4th gen wing, I always thought it looked too big but I saw a pic that changed my mind, wish I could find that pic though, so one vote here for the 4th gen wing! btw dont pay for the one that hawks sells, just buy a stock 4th gen one like stephen did.

You have the RAII hood...it looks stupid with your front end. You should have opted for the RAI hood which would go better with your less round front end.

yea we'll see how well the ttops hold up to racing, I might be buying a 350 thats already built and makes around 350hp but I'd have to switch to carb which Im not sure I want to do unless I get another driver car.

Apparently...I was called out on the first page, in regards to the OEM 4th gen wing.

Yes...$100 for a used OEM & a little extra work is way better than a $400 direct fit Hawks wing, IMHO.

We now have 3 'birds locally with OEM wings, no high $ aftermarket ones.

Check out my Photobucket for pics of mine & a red 91 TA with an OEM wing.

Layers of plex or Lexan & shaped to fit. MyPhotocket shohws it good.

But...Get one from a LT-generation 4th gen, not from a LS-generation. As much as they LOOK the same, they apparently aren't. Our LT-gen wings are sitting flat, but look at my Photobucket pics. My LS-gen is sitting "croooked". Only touching on one corner. I'm gonna hunt a LT-gen wing & replace my LS-gen....

Re: Another Project Form..my 1987 GTA

Here is a a few things Iv done. I got new weather stripping from my girlfriend for xmas so now its time to get the doors adn hatch back on. My mom doesnt like the engine bay..I think it will look awsome with the engine in it. You wont see it unless its really sunny day out..I need input whats everyone think so far? You might ask why spend the time and money to make the engine bay nice and the car back factory red..well all my money is in the drivetrain..so thats why!

Re: Another Project Form..my 1987 GTA

CHANGED THE COLOR OF MY CAR..lol I just painted the cage again..and will start on the door jams. Im doing a color a lot like the Sunset Metallic Orange on the WS6s..Vetts... its metallic so I want to do the jams and REasemble the car and do the all in one big turd..IDK..totally random..asked my g/f and she said yes..and that was enough for me( we almost bought a SOM 01 WS6 and thats why I want it )..so I pretty much just waisted $500-600 on red paints lol..then doing a dark grey stripes on the hood..
