Story of my Formula
Let me first begin by saying that I absolutely love this website and I can't thank all of the people on here enough for helping me through my project, even if you guys didn't know it. I was mainly doing a lot of searches instead of asking questions all the time to avoid asking those things that have already been covered numerous times before. Again, THANK YOU!
I'll start by saying that I've always been an import guy. I've built my fare share of fairly quick Hondas and DSMs. I never really liked domestics too much but I had never really driven one either.
When I met my wife seven years ago, she had this 87 Formula. Her parents had bought it for her first car. Let me just say that the first time she let me drive it, I fell in love with the car. Granted, it only had a 305 in it at the time, I still liked it a hell of a lot better then what I was used to. Her dad swore on his life that it was a 350 because of the placard under the hood. Well, come to find out, when I finally got the car in my possession 1 year ago, the hood had been replaced.
So I get a call one morning last spring from her mom. I was still half asleep when she asked me if I wanted the Bird. I never hesitated and immediately said, "hell f---ing yes." So, fast forward a couple of months. The original 305 had spun two rod bearings so I ripped that sucker out. I bought a 350 long block from a guy at work for $35. Had the motor rebuilt and bored to a 355 and put everything back together. I felt like I was floating on clouds when I first got that new motor started. Now mind you, this is the first time I've ever done a motor swap and the first GM I've ever worked on. I put in a lot of time doing research on this site and subscribed to AllData because I figured I would need it.
I was kind of lazy about getting the car road ready over the summer and I slacked off a bunch. Finally got her ready in October, just enough time to get her on the road and break in the new engine before the snow hit.
Without further a do, here are the current mods and future mods lists.
Current:
350 Chevy, rebuilt to stock with flat tops and bored to 355
Dynomax shorties
2 1/2" custom y-pipe into a 3" intermediate pipe, no cat, into a Flowmaster 80 series
Future:
Computer chip to get rid of the smog pump crap and allow me to run LT1 injectors (currently running on 305 injectors).
Polish wheels
Replace all suspenion components
Replace all steering components
Redo interior
Rebuild rear end
Rebuild junk yard 700r4 currently in it
I'm basically going to be restoring this whole car, but is going to take a while since I'm on a budget. =)

Can you post some larger photos? If you don't know how send them to me:
arrow206@shaw.ca
I will host them via photobucket.
The car deserves bigger pics

Thank you!
Yeah, let me reload them into my photobucket. I forgot to change the setting for the sizes.

Re: Story of my Formula
Well, I'd hope the motor looked clean, it's only got 1200 miles on it!
And the seat, yeah. When my wife had the car it was fine, then her 350lb dad started driving it, and well, you can see how well that worked out.
