it's been a while, but here's my project

hey guys, it's been quite a while since i've contributed to this board, last time i was on here i was driving my '89 formula, but thanks to living in nys that rusted out and that car is gone.

my project car for now is an '82 trans am that i picked up off of my buddy, you might remember this is the car we did the t-top conversion on.

well as the car sits now i've dropped in a<90k mile vortec 350 out of a 3/4 ton chevy p/u and the 700r4 out of my '89

the interior will all be out of the '89 along with the whole wiring harness of the car.

i'll be repainting the car again, all black this time.

i have a set of hedman Lt's that are going on the car and i'm going to make a true-dual exhaust for it, not a whole lot of speed parts on the car though, it's going to be an occassional driver, maybe some shows. we'll see how long it takes to get done.

right now i'm waiting on a new trans. x-member and a wonder bar from spohn.

Nice, didn't notice the shaved gas cap. Where's the new filler gonna go?

it's actually inside the hatch area, that small compartment in the plastic trim piece. it wasn't the most thought through plan, but it wasn't my car at the time. so i have to work on getting it to seal well, and not vent into the cabin too much

did some more work today, replaced the old pickup in the fuel tank with a pump, and my steering brace and trans. x member came in from spohn today.

Why did you go with a different cross member? Just curious.

Re: it's been a while, but here's my project

i put a 700r4 in an '82, the bolt holes for the xmember in the '82 are located closer to the front, it works fine for a turbo350 or a 200r4 trans, but not the 700r4.

also, i got my hedman LT's in today...

looks like it's coming along nice. It's always good to save a car from the junkyard and restore it.
