Don't the cats sit a bit further forward? I drove my last N10 GTA carpet-less for a bit and never felt heat like that under the seat, but more so right in the middle of the floor mat

I may have mentioned in above posts where the 5000 miles I’ve put on this car since I owned it, it’s run pretty flawless with two exceptions. One being the VATS which is totally random and not often. The other being after a length of driving the car would just shut off like it ran out of gas. Wait an unspecified amount of time (10 minutes?) fires right up and drives away like nothing ever happened. Could a faulty cat be linked to that? Again thanks for the input fellas have some things to look into next 👍🏻

I haven’t gone and physically looked but judging by the shape of the hump on that side it’s probably about that spot. With the missing carpet being towards the rear of the cat, and where I would assume the most heat would be.

Moved on to the clutch master and slave cylinder this weekend. Anyone ever done this? I mean I’m certain others have, just wondering if you would agree it’s a job you wouldn’t wish on anyone 😂
On a related side note, I may be putting this car up for sale in the next few weeks or so. Actually getting out to the garage and doing some work has felt great and I’ve felt accomplished, but also looking around at all my projects and parts and full garage has really got me wanting to thin things out a bit. Especially with winter coming. If I do decided to, it won’t be an easy decision but will free up time, space, and money to let me get back to my Trans Am finally. I’ll keep this updated with progress and info if I decide to move it.

For the time being decided to just clean this carpet and address some spots/stains. It’s not great but also not trashed or terrible. I was more concerned with seeing what the floors looked like underneath it. For being a T top car I was imagining or expecting the worst even though the bottom side looks good. Had gotten a little water in there once and I’d have to say these carpets do what they are supposed to. For a 30 year old car I thought it was pretty decent! Whatever the General used must have not been bad. Too bad we couldn’t say the same of GM’s clear coat of the time! Lol
Drivers side
Had to wire brush and treat the left forward seat mount. Guessing it’s one of the most exposed to the elements. Small amount of light surfaces along the seat beams the almost wiped away. Very clean otherwise 👍🏻

I’ll be completely honest I had to let this sit outside for about a year and it obtained a small amount of water in the driver side during that time. Caused the seat tracks to freeze even. I was completely expecting the worst. Imagine my relief when I pulled it back and saw how clean it was. I’m the sixth owner of this car and it’s amazing that it was mostly completely original down to the factory CD player.

Got the rear hatch buttoned up today. Was in my Trans Am and realized I had a working unit in there that I wasn’t aware of it working. Definitely had to rob Peter to pay Paul, but that thing ain’t going anywhere soon so lol. Reinstalled the dyed privacy cover. All is well for now

I love the original replacement steering wheel. I would like to do the same thing, but find a black one like. Also, I've always been deathly afraid of that tack on Airbag system. As much as I want my car original, The airbag-wheel can go in a box! Some saving grace that they put the same Airbags in Lotus esprits.

Never was a huge fan of the 1991-2 nose, but I really like this car. So nice in green.
