I bought this '84 TA as a roller on a stroke of dumb luck a couple of years ago. Got it home and found no rust, a perfect interior, and the RPO sheet listing a 3.73 posi disc rear and WS6 suspension. It was originally an L69 5 speed car. Threw a fresh 406 and a 68k mile V6 T5 in it, both found on Facebook Marketplace, and drove it for two years. The pickup fell off the oil pump, so I recently pulled the motor. It's currently in for a bigger hydraulic roller cam, aluminum heads, better intake and carb, and a T56.

And then the fun was over for a while.
Motor is going back together with these heads (Skip White 200cc, 64cc combustion chambers, set up for a hydraulic roller cam), a little more cam, Howards lifters, and a complete MSD ignition setup I got cheap.

i meant that question for Paintchips97. i'll take any help i can get tracking one down though!
it's the radio in the pic below. i found a radio just like this one in a 1983 TA but it has white backlighting. my '84 TA needs one with red backlighting like this but i can't find one. back when i was younger, we just installed CD players in these cars and threw out the factory radios. wish i didn't do that.

His comment was posted a year ago. Mine today. But I know where you're coming from. Is there any way, you can substitute your radio bulbs, for red ones? I know at a period of time, the dash lights, could be unscrewed and replaced in their sockets from under the dash. Unfortunately, the rocket science engineers of today, soldier alot of bulbs, into the radio circuit boards. Anything to prohibit backyard repairs...easily.

Just now getting back to checking out my threads, lol. The car was finished in late winter/early spring of this year, I was able to drive it all season. I did a bowl blend and a bit of port work on those Skip White heads, wound up going with a rotating assembly from them as well (Scat 9000 series internally balanced crank, forged Scat rods, forged Weisco pistons, ARP everything) because the stock crank was out of balance slightly and took out the main bearings. Also running a Howards .530/.545 lift hydraulic roller, a Performer RPM Airgap intake, carb heat soak shield and a 750DP all stuffed under the stock hood. The T56 swap was uneventful, thankfully, and works very well! Went with a Hawks plain crossmember, Spec billet aluminum flywheel, Tick adjustable master, a custom shift pattern emblem from Anthony Cardoso and a Silver Sport STX shifter at the suggestion of Tom and Val Pichette. I also installed a set of Recaro seats and some Autometer Sport Comp gauges in the hood bulge. The car has been my daily driver ever since and completed about 900 miles of driving to/from/during Firebird Fest in St. Louis shortly after completing the car. As for selling the radio, I'm sorry but I'm really not looking to part with it at this time.

Stock 3.73 limited slip 10 bolt that came in the car, original down to the 38 year old/59k mile diff fluid, lol. I have no idea how it hasn't broken yet.
