yet another rear ???

I recently bought this rear from a junk yard. when I opened the diff. cover I noticed that the gears were filled with a wettish rust.(looks like they lost the plug and left it outside) rain most likely got inside the hole how do I fix this problem?

agh..

bad sign... you may be able to use them if there's only surface rust, pitting is very bad..

Get some diff fluid (80-90) and flush all the gears and stuff off. If it just wipes off, they should be OK.

The Carrier I am currentyly using was sitting outside in the rain for several Months.

When I got it, It was all full of leaves and rust and junk, I soaked it In used Motor Oil and cleaned it up, and it seems to be working fine
