Where do you 'Build' Your Car at?
I was wondering if anyone know of A place that I could rent or something to 'build' a car. I am wanting to go real in depth and build a car the way I want but I have no where to build one. Any thoughts?
I'm a 19 year old NOVA student who still leaves @ home and parents don't want a "peice of junk' in their driveway
I really want to be a custom car builder one day but I need practice and they don't understand that...

just bring one home like i did
they didnt like it, but they didnt say anything when it rolled up into the driveway
otherwise your pretty much beat, no place is going to rent out a garage due mostly to liability issues

it partly depends on your parents, too.
my parents never said a word when i brought either of my cars home.

just do it
Just get the ride you want and bring it home. Explain to your parents about your passion for restoring and building and also use the "At least I'm not out running the streets with bad kids" line and they should be more than happy to have you at home doing something constructive with your time.
Good luck bro

The best thing to do is have a serious talk with your parents

Yeah, my parents said that too, but when I made sure that there were no parts laying in the front yar, no oil spills, and no engines hanging from trees, they let my keep both project cars at home. Plus when I'm not working on them I cover them up. We've also got a big driveway. Bottom line is if you handle it maturely and responsibly and respect their property your parents shouldn't care. HTH.

i had to build my first 2 engines in the bedroom and keep them hidden so that they wouldnt be discovered....... i also hid a spare 700R4 under my bed for 2 months....... you could feel the belhousing lump... and if you forgot it was there and plopped on it, the trans would lift up the rear a bit, then slam back down on the floor.. making a rather large noise.
i got cought when i was building my 3rd engine (first 400SBC )
athough by that time, they realized i was hopeless and they let me continue my hobby

thanks, that sounds much easier. I just might try it. Worse they could do was tell me to get rid off it...
