Any Local GM Techs or know how to find GM Tools?
I'm looking for some gm tools, but GM wont sell them. I realize its a stretch to ask to borrow such things, and I will be exploring other options.
I need tools:
J-35118-5
J-21777-45
J-21777-43
J-21777-42
J-23597-1
J-35118-2
Descriptions can be found in the service manual for a 1987 Firebird page 4B1-20
I need to re-align the rear end gears ad would rather do it with GM tools than the so called universals, as numerous sites say the universal ones don't work so well, and my own experience with other "Universal OEM Parts" has been less than satisfactory. I'm not going to pay some dealer $80 I think now per hour.
If you know where to get these tools, have a set I can borrow for a weekend (I think I can get this done over a weekend anyways ) let me know.
Thanks
Corry

Hate to answer my own post, but http://www.spxkentmoore.com has a lot of these tools. I still need to either find the J-35118's or find an updated part since kent moore shows it as discontinued

hey all the "special" tools that dealers have are made by SPX/OTC
they are a mn based company and truthfully any Napa store can get these things for you have them either call thier balkamp hotline and have them cross the part number or ask them for the SPX catalog..if you have problems jsut let me know and i will do that myself for you or if i get some free time at work ill do it..oh by the way i work for them..
