Re: Classic plates in PA

I'm running classic plates. Make sure you have your car looking good for the pictures you have to take of it, I failed the first time because of a few missing cosmetic items. They look for proper wheels, center caps, good paint, logos and decals, (on gfx, front and back bumper, fenders if you had them) hood louvers, exhaust pipes and exits, ...

Since you are asking, you probably know that the form says '1 day a week' is all you are allowed to drive. The most I have heard is it is somewhat of an honor system. If I ever get a ticket, I might park it for a week, just to be sure; I can't think of any other way they could tell. (I don't think they would try to knock you based on mileage, but you never know.)

Also, if you are getting a classic registration to avoid emissions, remember to tell the inspection place that you are 'excluded from emissions' not 'exempt' they mean different things. Excluded means you don't need a sticker (and don't have to pay for one) and that they don't have to/shouldn't do the emissions visual part of the inspection. If you have no cats, no PCV, ... it is ok when you are excluded.

Aside from the dumb colors (white, purple numbers) it is good for me and my motor

I didn't even bother applying after i found out they dont allow tint on the windows. I spend way too much on it to tear it off.
