question for Marylanders w/historic tags
My insurance renewal is coming up. I'm still baffled by the fact that insurance for my camaro is $181 for 6 months, and it's tagged as historic. My cutlass ciera, which is a regular registration, is merely $60 more. This doesn't make sense to me, seeing as how the camaro cannot be legally driven everyday.
Is there a special "historic insurance" that my company should be providing me? I have State farm mutual. They say that the state minimum coverage for regular registration is what historic cars get too.

Look into a specialized classic car insurance company like JC Taylor. I think my insurance is very reasonable for my GTA. The rate is based on how much you claim the car is worth.

I just put my Camaro back on the road in February, and went with Grundy Worldwide. You can do all the paperwork online; if they accept you then be prepared to send them pictures of your ride. Vaued my ride at $5K, and the cost is $100/year. There are several threads in the "History" section that list a few other options, I think this is probably the best of the bunch:
