406sbc Short Block for sale in Milwaukee WI area...
Chevrolet 400 Small Block Short Block Assembly
Casting number: 3951511 (1970-1973)
2 bolt-main
Bored .030 over to a 406ci (Same stroke as a 383, just a bigger bore.)
Bearings, Cam, Lifters, crank, rods, and pistons have 1000miles on them.
True double roller timing chain, flat tappet-solid lifters
Comp Cams # 12-610-5 on the small base circle
LSA:104 Dur@50:255/266 Lift@50:.540/.534
This is a short track circle track cam.
Pistons are Keith Black Hypereutectic aluminum flat-top pistons with +5cc valve reliefs. The pistons sit .024in from the deck. All clevite77 standard sized bearings were used, speed pro moly piston ring set. A set of rebuilt GM 5.7in rods with ARP bolts. The crank is a factory replacement crank. All parts are about 2 years old. The block has not been decked.
My computer program estimates compression to be: 76cc head: 9.7:1, 66cc head: 10.7:1, and 64cc head 11:1.
Factors I took into account for the compression ratio calculation:
Bore: 4.155
Stroke: 3.75
Valve Reliefs: added 5cc of combustion space
Piston TDC to Deck: .024
FELPRO gasket Bore: 4.200
FELPRO gasket compressed thickness: .040
Block was not decked: +/- 0.000
$850, shipping extra, I’m in the Milwaukee area, I will accommodate buyers by traveling to a halfway point as long as its not too far away.
