Hello from Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Iowa
Hello, I have an 83 T/A that I am going to have to work on again, just got the trans in, to find out the motor has a spun rod bearing apparently. So now I have to decide what I am going to do for a motor, I have plenty of options, just have to decide which one. It is carbed, so if I stay that way, it makes it easy, or I have thought about putting the crossfire I have from a different car on it, have to see. It has been sitting too long, so now the paint is crapped out too, so another thing that has to be handled...

My roommate put the original Crossfire on a built 350 in his 83 TA. It has good low end but poor runout. He is still kinda disappointed about the outcome. Good luck with your install. If you need parts for your Crossfire that import yard on highway 6 past oxford has a complete 83 TA still on a car.

Unfortunately, that yard is now closed, and that unit is pretty well trashed from the wreck, as well as weather since the wreck. I worked there for a while, and a friend was running it up until recently... The 83 i took the motor and injection system out of ran ok, once I got it tuned in. I have done some reading that stated updating the injection system to a newer style like say a 90 V8 helps considerably.
