new member from Ct here

Hi all.Just picked up a 1984 TA last week.Ive owned plenty of f-bodys,but not since the 90s.Its been a while.Found the car on craigslist and its quite a turd. But Ive got it coming along nicely so far,and I just picked up a 10 bolt posi yesterday. Its got a trashed T5,so Im on the hunt for a replacement to get me by till I do a muncie or t56 swap(havent made up my mind yet)But Im looking to do alot of crusing/shows/summer nationals with it this year when im not driving my 67 Pontiac.Looking forward to meeting some new f-body people and learning and helping.Well heres some pics

Re: new member from Ct here

Oh and yes I know those are newer ground effects/bumper cover.Im not to fond of them but they are on and decent shape so theyre staying for now.Plus Im afraid oof whats under there,ha.

305(not original)
T5(junk,fluid leaks out as fast as i pour it in,case streched)
B/w 9 bolt,drum,323 one wheel peel
edelbrock performer carb and intake
just picked up a 92 28 spline 10bolt,323 limited slip,its been blasted painted,gone through,aluminum calipers...niiiice.going in very soon

This car is def a project.Previous owners were slobs.Lots of burnholes, missing hardware, jimmy riggs. But Ive got it under control now and shes safe.I will keep updating as I go along.Ive got a long way to go and a short time to get there ha.I want it ready for the begining of april.Oh yea Im going to put up a wanted ad for all the parts I need.

thanks and yea I like theese wheels in black better also.Im going to paint it,not sure when,I might have to wait till next winter.Ive got enough work cut out for me.Waiting for the trans which is getting rebuilt right now,I did the passenger side floor, now I have to do the drivers side, and I still have to install the 10 bolt I picked up.So paint may have to wait a bit.

And my shop is just for fun.Its actually self storage units with the metal walls removed.I do all my painting either at my home garage or at my buddys cause he paints for a living.

Well they are not that hard to troubleshoot or rebuild as long as you fix any issues before you close the hatch. There are times when it won't release and if you can't get to it from inside it not pretty to get it open.

Well, I got the ball rolling on my LS1/4L60E swap into my camaro. Hopefully the weather gets a little warmer in the next week or so, then I will be able to start my project, finally. I'm also in for lots of cruising once I get it all done.

Re: new member from Ct here

We really need to get together and cruise down to the pike, but first i need to get my car done. On a different subject, I got a huge box with alot of parts from SDPC for my camaro. Hopefully I'll start working on it this coming weekend by disassembling the engine and inspecting it. If I'm lucky get started on porting the throttle body and heads. Maybe I'll start a thread on my build.

I'm in Plainville also.. though my Camaro is currently in storage in Andover.
I moved recently and there's no where to keep the car here. I have a ton of work to do to it in the next few weeks.

Funny you should mention; a couple months ago I saw an 86 Trans Am sitting in the back of Chuck and Eddie's lot with trashed Recaro seats... you might wanna try those if the car is still there. I snapped a picture with my phone:

They probably won't want much. It would be cool to see those fixed up!

Re: new member from Ct here

im building a th 350 for my car... it is a stock auto... my last one was a 5spd but the frame was cracked when i bought it and didnt realize it.... untill i went under it one day and saw it.... didnt want to build anything into that so i picked up another body that i really liked but it is auto and i dont want to mess with it because i dont have the pedal setup or anything else..... i have all the parts to put my tranny together i just dont trust my self and my uncles have a guy that they use who is pretty nasty.... i had the cash ready but then i got the call on my heads that they were ready and it was almost 200 more then what the guy and i talked about the price being... due to the work that was needed
