List updated.

Looks like you knocked off a tenth and gained a couple mph from last season Marc.

Definite have the mph for a high 10 with a better 60'

Maybe on TNT with a better prep you'll get it.

Should have a time to post up in a few days if all goes well Heading to Redding Saturday to make my first runs of the year. Not expecting great things 'cause I HATE the camshaft that's in the car right now. Giving it one more shot to better the old cam's best times.

Am I still #1?

Just installed the "missing nitrous fuel line" today. So we're going to figure out how much juice we want to come on & when.

After that we're going to change the Rev limiter to somewhere around 7500, & change the 2 step/transbrake to release at about 4500-5000rpms.

Yes, but hopefully not for much longer This might be the last time for a while that I'll be running the Camaro at the track so it better do well LOL. Good luck with the nitrous on yours, should be a very fun ride.

I was wanting to play with the spray this weekend, but my tuner wants to do some nitrous/dyno tuning before we go to the track.

We'll be changing the 2step from 4000 rpms to probably a 5000 rpm launch, I think the car is trying too hard to get into the power curve, instead of launching in the power curve. We'll also change the top end limiter from 7000 to 7500-ish.

I went thru the traps in 3rd gear at about 6000 rpms, so I think I got another 1000-1300 rpms.

Re: Nor-Cal 2010 - 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!

Horrible night at the track bleh, the roller cam is coming out. There was also a somewhat bad wreck on the first pair out. Car got out of shape in the right lane and went into the guardrail then flipped. The driver hurt his hands a little and bit his tongue. The announcer said he was released from the hospital earlier tonight though. Here are a couple pics, 1 and 2

Re: Nor-Cal 2010 - 1/4 Mile Track Times - Get on the list!!

Ok, here's my craptastic run. 2nd run of the night, probably wouldn't get anything more out of it. Left so damn lazy and just didn't rpm. The last pass was a nitrous run but I fooked that up good. Hit 3rd and relaxed on the shifter too much which allowed it to bypass the lockout and go into neutral just after half track. Got out of it, dropped it back into 3rd, hit the throttle and button again to run a blistering 11.38 @ 118 mph. So freakin disappointed right now lol. Not going back for a while either.

EvilCartman - 12.03 @ 113.75 mph - 1.74 60' - 1982 Camaro - 350

And I was about to tell ya how fast the cars been too .

Honestly I've been far too busy with other aspects in my life as of late to really be doing anything with the car. I'm hoping I have some more free time and some more money to spend on this hobby...lifestyle of mine but as of now its still sitting on the back burner more or less.

Ill c if I can help ya out a bit tho believe it or not. Throw that stupid two step out the window...for now just bring the car up on the brake and give that a try. Any idea what it stalls on the brake? Cam specs and cubes too?

Honestly I've been far too busy with other aspects in my life as of late to really be doing anything with the car. I'm hoping I have some more free time and some more money to spend on this hobby...lifestyle of mine but as of now its still sitting on the back burner more or less.

Ill c if I can help ya out a bit tho believe it or not. Throw that stupid two step out the window...for now just bring the car up on the brake and give that a try. Any idea what it stalls on the brake? Cam specs and cubes too?
I was thinking about using the TB w/o the 2step. Footbrake stalls @ 3500. 406 ci, .631 lift, 276 intake, 282 exh @ .050
Thanks

Thanks
and LSA?

That's a decent amount of duration, even with the 406 cubes that's gonna be up in the power band a good way. You can do it in ur garage, just bring it up on the brake and see what it stalls and come back and tell me the RPM, just make sure the rears jacked up or that you get off the gas before you let off the brake. I honestly don't know why people are telling you to use a 2 step, but sounds like theyll be the same people telling you to ramp in your nitrous. Don't even bother with the progressive until you start adding a real good amount of nitrous and actually half way know what you're doing. You're over complicating everything. But i'm gettting side tracked. Trans brake w/o the 2 step, then thank me later. Even if your converters off, it should be launching way harder than 1.6xs, no reason it shouldn't be a bottom 1.5x upper 1.4x 60 on the motor. 3 speeds are way more forgiving than 2 speeds with the wrong converter so i'm going to guess that 2 step is hurting you bad. Give it a shot and see.

I didnt bring the laptop to take out the 2step, but stalled it on the Tbrake to 4300-ish then the 2step kicked in. I'll bring the laptop tomarrow & try it w/o the 2step.

Whats LSA?

Thanks again.

If it's kickin off the 2 step it does you no good as far as what the car will stall too. Take it out completely or change the 2 step to something like 7 grand which you know it'll never see.

It's a quick change thru the laptop. I'll change it tomorrow & report back.

I've talked to some people and they use a shift light to signal their staging RPM instead of the 2step.
They say when using the 2step the engine is leaving on 1/2 power since half of the cylinders are firing on take off.

If it doesnt rain on Wed I might go out to the track & try it out.

what people? just put it on the brake and hold it wide open, stop playing with shift lights and 2 steps. If it won't leave on the motor ***** to the wall you need to play with your suspension, your car does NOT make nearly enough power on the motor (and probably wont on the kit...but that's another story) to start playing with anything that relates to "my car makes too much power". Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but it's true. My cars the same way. Faster you go the slower you know you are. And that's the way it is.

Unless you're doing bracket racing and have to leave the line exactly the same RPM each time, do what he says and take the 2 step out. Don't even worry about leaving at a certain RPM, just flat foot it on the brake and hang on. Right now you're just trying to get the thing to make the numbers it should be doing. My piddly little engine has done a best of 1.61 60' off the footbrake using 28x9 slicks. You're making more power than me n/a and running about the same mph on motor as I do on nitrous. Speaking of that, I did a 1.42 60' on a 200 shot.
