Well it was only a matter of time I suppose.

I live in Minnesota and work in Oakland. I picked up a 89 GTA 5sp because I was tired of rental cars.

It has started to throw itself out of first gear. I fear the worst. (Figures, we just discovered the baby we are expecting in November is a boy so why not throw an expence in broken car parts at me right about now!) Looking at the cost of transmissions (If that is indeed the problem, 1st gear synchro going or the gears being worn) I figure I may as well go for a t56.

Normally I would park the car in my garage, jack it up, and go to town, but my garage is back in Minnesota and I live out of a hotel out here during the week.

Anyone around here have a garage where this work could be performed? I know its alot to ask but the alternative is to buy the parts and pay a shop. I would rather be able to work with and give some payment to a bord member if possible. Thoughts?
