For all you Colorado guys and gals look>>>

Every Saturday in Colorado Springs there is a car show (mostly camaros and firebirds, some mustangs) at 5pm. This show is great, it's free and happens every Saturday. This is a local guys gathering, someone just decided to start it and it become so big. Last week about 30 cars came out, this week I expect about 40 or more, and it gets up to about 100+ cars in the hot summer.

Any and all thirdgeners that can make the drive (about 45 minutes from Denver) SHOULD make it there, it is great and lasts about 3-4 hours. Right next to eating places and everything.

Location: "Grocery Wearhouse" parking lot on Powers and Constitution (North Colorado Springs).

This is a great one, so you Fort Carson guy you need to get a hold of me and go to this, and everyone else in the springs/Denver area.

Later this summer they will have a cruise after the show.

Also, at 10pm the same night, all of them go out to the back roads and do a little one on one racing for fun, ITS GREAT!!!

My number is 719-201-6525 or e-mail me!!

I guess you are referring to me. I spend most of my web time over at clubgp.com.
I have been looking for a car show/meet in the springs area for a while. I was told it was off of Academy where christals is now.
regardless, I'll run this by the wife and see if she wants to go with me. She doesn't let me very far from her sight since my return from the middle east.
I'll give oyu a call though.

I know what you mean, I was a tank platton leader with 1/68 AR BN in Iraq. However, you got to go to this, it's so much fun...

Let me know, there is one this Saturday at 5pm...

PS I am stationed still at Carson, if you want to stop by and talk, I work in the division HQ build, 7th ID, in room 125.

I'll try to make it out there some times. I typically head up to Denver after work on Saturdays, but I think I can make a few exceptions. ....providing my car starts this morning..... uggh.

I'll try to show up sometime, I know a buddy of mine was up there last weekend with his STI. I don't drive a thirdgen right now but would love to hook up with some of you guys. If any of you guys see a white 00 blazer pull up there then thats probably me. BTW, if anybody wants a free 85 firebird for parts or whatever let me know(2.8 v6 w/ a bad 700r4, few good parts on it though). It's in woodland park right now and I need to get it out of my brothers driveway soon. You tow it away and its yours, because I don't have the money to do anything with it right now. PM me or give me a call at (719) 338 4695.

Can't wait to meet you guys, once my busy schedule stops. That won't be til May though. But it's all good cuz I'll graduate in July!

C-Dawg I was just in Torrence/Redondo Beach for spring break!

Yeah, on Saturday I did not even go this week, because the rain, no one would show up. However, I am hoping this weekend will be better. If anyone plans on doing anything in the springs, call me., let do some racing and hang out.

I will be at the show this Saturday in my 91 red RS.. if it does not rain

dam weather...

I am in Dallas this weekend, so it has been 80's most of the week, nice, 3rd gen weather all day!

Back to the springs on Sunday night, I guess back to snow or rain again.... Soon my brothers, we will have nice weather...

That and my car is on jack stands for a few weeks, I sold my stock wheels and am waiting on my 18's to arrive... I cannot wait.

Looks like we might actually get nice weather tomorrow. If so I'll be there after drill with the guard..then I gotta wash and detail my car. Hopefully I'll be there by 6PM.

okay, I went there today and most folks came out. I was present for about 20 minutes, only because it gets boring if you don't have your own car to show off.

My car is sitting on jack stands waiting on my new ROH snyper wheels, which should be on in a few weeks at most. I CANNOT WAIT! I will be at the show again the weekend of the 30th or the last weekend of this month (or first one of May) then I should have my wheels and be ready to show...

Today it was all 4th gens (as far as f-bodies go) and a few 1st gens. We need to show up in force and get a 3rd gen row going...

C U all then

I made it out there today, got there right about 6 like I predicted too. I parked next to a baby blue 68 Camaro SS. There were 3 other 68 Camaros in that row. I was almost directly across from the SRT-4s and SRT-10. For a while there was a C4 vette next to me. I pretty much popped the hood, and walked away.

I did talk to a guy with an 89 RS that has had it for about a year. He likes it, but wants more power (go figure). He doesn't get on the net much though.

I dunno what time I left, but it was when everybody started leaving. *shrug*

GOFASTER, sorry if we missed each other. We'll meet up one of these days. I don't think I'll be able to make the May 1st weekend, probably the weekend after though.

I guess it's raining now....joy!.. always the day I wash my car. Yipiee!

Later,
Jesse

No more GW for me.

Well, the bottom end decided to break on monday, so I'm going to trailer my camaro to my parents house in Denver and work on building a new 350 for it. Then I'll be living there after the end of May, so I don't think I'll get to the GW this year. Then I'll probably be at Engineer Officer Basic Course right after I finish it in Feb 05.

well, sorry to hear that. If you need any help with the build up, let me know, I have a great knowledge since I just did mine not too long ago, and also have good hook ups for most parts in the springs.

Good luck at EOBC, I am off to my new branch (having left Armor and ended my branch detail) to the AG CCC end of this year. Good old South Carolina, great racing weather and show weather... I am moving this weekend down near carson (from up north) to my new house, so I will not make any shows this weekend, sounds like the weather will be a bad one again, dam, that is 6 weekends in a row :-(

Well, as far as parts go, I'm going to pick them up as I can afford them. Right now, I don't have to rush, but am trying to decide on the heads. I have an extensive thread about them here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...5&goto=newpost

I'm most likely am going to get a block from a co-worker, and then just order everything else from summit or the like.

That means I still need everything else, such as the rotating assembly, oil pan to fit the block (still gotta get the block), and cam. I'm gonna reuse what I can for now, which will probably only be the TPI and dizzy (as far as the engine itself goes).

I didn't realize you were on the north side, I'm near Academy and Austin Bluffs. Oh well.

Thanks,
Jesse

Yep, I was up north, but as of this past weekend I moved WAY down south/east. Nice new house, backyard, nice garage, everything!

For heads, you should go with the heads I am using, they are very nice, and affordable. There Pro Top Line heads, the 220cc alum heads, they flow over 300cc's out of the box!! I am looking still to have them ported (stage III) very soon (that is about $400). The heads are perfect for the budget minded person (like you and I).

I got my new ROH wheels on and the car is looking good. I will be at the show this coming weekend (provided the weather is nice). Maybe see you around?

I'll try to make it out to the GW for a little while this weekend. I'm swamped with finals and final papers this and next week though. I'll be working until 5 on saturday, last day at Checker actually.

If I can make it, I'll be in an old beat up white mini van. We'll meet by me just hovering over your car, cuz I really want to get a good look at it based on the sig pics! I don't have a cell or any 'untethered' way of getting ahold of me.

Jesse,

Do this, my cell is (local number) 201-6525, call me if you canot find me, this will be a good weekend to see my car. That, or, if you want to we can meet up this week and you can see the camaro, I will be up north at my old house today for about 4 hours cleaning and getting the car ready for movement to my new house, so my camaro is up north still, that would also be a great time for you to look at it. I can do whatever, just let me know. I am not sure what the weather will be like this weekend, some are talking about rain already, so I don't know what will happen for the show this weekend, hope for sun and no rain/snow!!

R U still in school (college)? Have you commissioned yet or still waiting? You say your waiting to go to OBC still, but your finishing up tests, let me know, I can be of some help with "heads up" advice for OBC (any and all OBC's, they are all about the same).

Good luck and will talk or see you later.

PS What Checker do you work at? I am looking for part time work, can you see if I can take your old job??? Can you ask around at work and let them know I am looking for a job at Checker (and I am good with that sort of thing)? That would be a great help for me... Need the extra money for the car this summer. She is not even ready to race yet and racing season is starting soon (if it has not already). You will see what I mean and what I still need to be race ready when you check out the super sport this week/end.

Laterz

I do have a reserve commission through the early commissioning program, it's kind of hard to explain, so I'll do it when we finally meet up. Right now I'm in my last semester at CU here in the springs working towards my BA. I get to go to OBC once I get my degree.

Weather.com shows that it's going to be a very nice weekend.

It's finals time at school, so I'm very pressed for time during the week. I'll just head to GW after work.

Right now I am a part time parts delivery driver. It doesn't pay much($7.50/hr), but it is part time. I work at the Checker just south of Academy and Austin Bluffs and Saturday is my last day at work. I know that our store is going to need more drivers, and there aren't any special skills needed (other than a clean driving record).

Next weekend I have drill with my national guard unit, so I won't be able to make it because we are doing a field exercise. The next weekend I'm moving to Denver, and my car will be on a trailer headed that way.

See ya soon,
Jesse

Well bud, just give me a call on my cell phone around 5pm this Saturday. Then I can tell you where I am at during the car show at GW. I am going for sure, my car is looking sooooo dam good, I cannot believe it. I got the wheels and everything cleaned up last night, OMG........ IMO, one of the best looking 3rd gens I've seen. It still needs some work, but she is just smoking! You have to see it in person to understand my love for this car.

So, call me around 5pm (or so), that is when I should be just setting up on the lot, then I can tell you where and when to meet me. My brother from out of town is going to be with me, he is a dork, but somewhat a car guy himself. I will be at the show for about 2 hours. I will see you then.

PS I know what ECP is, you got commissioned after your 2 year in school, I have seen folks do that before. Good luck with your tests and get finished, it feels sooooo good when you are done. You remind me of myself, I was a cadet in college, ROTC, working on my 3rd gen, racing, shows, and weekend drills, while working part time as a bouncer at a club, making almost no money but having fun doing it. That is cool, keep it up and MAKE IT OUT this weekend, because I will be there with the "new" SS look!!! Maybe I will pick a few fights and race some mustangs??? he he

I may stop by too, easy to spot me, really crappy 92' Bird.. Long story behind it's condition, but all I can say is never lose your car to an ex-wife during a divorce, especially when she hates the car and just wants it to **** you off.

Oh well, just gives me a bigger project overall.

okay, well I will hope to see both of you out at the show this Saturday.

dthangel, look for me in my 1991 Bright Red Camaro (Super Sport). It will have a 3" cowl, 17" ROH wheels, you cannot miss it, just look for the BEST looking 3rd gen (maybe the only) on the lot, that will be me. If I am not around, just wait, I will be back, i like to make fun of the other mustangs and get them to want to race my "old slow 305 RS"

HE HE

Will see you guys on Saturday around 5-530pm!!! Call me once your on your wat Jesse

I'm easy to find too..

Just look for the faded, peeling green 92 Bird with the rattle in the tailpipe, bubbling tint ( if I don't get that all off by Saturday night), and big spot of paint missing from the nose.. (like I said, long story)

Due to some issues (mainly my wife has other plans for me).. I may not be able to make it tomorrow night. If not I'll definetly plan on being there in 2 weeks. (Next weekend I'm Vegas, so that's definetly out)

I'll see what I can pull off for this Saturday though..

well welcome aboard... Hope to see everyone out at the car show this coming Saturday. The turn outs have been great, tons of cars this past weekend, around 100 and growing each week.

I moved up to Denver on Saturday, so I won't be making it to as many GW shows anymore. I'll try to get down there every once in a while though!

83 camaro racer ,
I'd love to see your TA. Blue with silver ground effects on a TA is what I think looks the best out of the factory!

i just put plugs in her and man she flys even with an automatic. I picked her up off a guy in denver for 700 bucks with not even 93xxx on her. she has t tops and a 700r4 and came with gta rims(i think) 9 in zrated front and rear tires. i took the bra of sunday and got my radio in it. its starting to turn into my car lol. ill try and make it out to gw even though ive been a couple of times. but that all depends on my gas budget.as buying the car dug into my pockets lol.

I'm again going to try to swing by this weekend..

This past Saturday I was all set to stop on down, but my water pump had other ideas. Gotta love it when something just goes boom on you. At least it was the weekend, so I had the time to deal with it.
