Hey trans_x1985, which one is yours? I'm from Leavenworth (in Iraq right now) but saw a few while I was on leave. Mine is the red/gray/black one that looks like it's about to fall apart, lol. Picked it up for a grand and have been ordering parts ever since.

After 30 years in Belleville, Lawrence is a revelation: more restaurants, bars, markets, and cultural events than you can imagine--that along with a ton of car shows within an hour. Went to the Dole Institute yesterday. Pretty cool. The swapmeet attracts many, many vendors selling every auto part imaginable and thousands of prospective buyers. Walking through it, if nothing else, is a kick.

I just got back from Iraq and have noticed a lot of third gens around the Fort Riley area. Also seen a couple here in Leavenworth. Would it be alright with every one else if I made some flyers to invite people to join?

I've been thinking for awhile (unusual, I know) about a gathering in Lawrence in the spring. There's a cosy parking lot at Marys Lake, along with a shelter house, grills, bathrooms, playground, and tennis courts. It's also close to Overkill, should anyone be interested in stopping in there. If enough thirdgenners are interested, I'll look into it. Or I'm up for anything before then.

You mean to say that you'd rather drop a 502 in your car than show up and jaw with fellow thirdgenners? I have no words for your possible betrayal .

Perhaps we could even have a small swap meet at the same time. I have a very nice (and complete) L69 dual snorkel set-up, and by then if all goes well, a good set of single stripe, gray IROC wheels.

I'll add to the members here in Wichita. Once the weather warms up and I can get around to fixing my exhaust leak (and some minor electrical issues) I would be more than happy to join everyone in the Lawrence area for a gathering.

I live in Overland Park but I'm currenty deployed in Afghanistan.

Just picked up a '92 Z28 Convertible over the past weekend (on R&R for a few more days) it needs a little work but it will be worth it when she's finished!

I'll be back again in mid summer and would like to get together and check out some of your rides before my unit moves me across the country.

I'm assumiing your SFC's are the weld in type because anybody can install bolt-ins.

I am way out in rural NW Kansas (Colby area). I have five third gen Camaros (Z28s and Irocs), with my rough 89 Iroc 5.7 L being my daily driver. It will be undergoing restoration work once the summer weather is gone. Too much fun to let sit with the T-tops on when the weather is warm....

I don't have a ton of carb experience but I might be interestes in the headers... I'm in Afghanistan for just a few months but we might be able able to work something out...

Good luck!

Re: ANY KANSAS PEOPLE!

What branch are you in. I am in the Navy Reserve, tried going back active duty but all the services from what I have heard have met their numbers. Hopefully soon they will realize that you can't just up and cut a budget.

Army active duty... It's kinda funny - they are cutting the bonuses for people to stay in but are still offering "new" recruits $40K+... Wouldn't it be cheaper to keep the people you already have trained??

Oh well - I've realized that NOT making sense is what the military is best at...

Anyways what are the headers you have? I've got a stock '92 Z Vert that I picked up when I was home on leave a few months ago and have a loooong list of mods I'd like to do and headers are at the top of that list...

WOW i was out there in Colby from Aug 03-Aug 06 as a recruiter for the AF. You might have seen me in my white 02 SS i daily drove, and you might even have seen me in my white 92 RS on occasion. Do you know Saj? He has a 79-80 Z28 that is pretty wicked and he works at the tire shop on country club drive.
