I knew I was stupid, but this proves it!!!
I recently bought a brand new 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200. I've owned motorcycles in the past, and I had the itch for another.
Well right after I bought it, I thought "I could have spent that $7K on my car and been A LOT happier."
So I put it on Ebay and got an offer for $5250. I almost took it, but figured for that much of a loss in $$$, I might as well keep it a while. That was an even dumber move. WHY? ....because it's gets better, or actually worse.
Friday I finally got full coverage insurance on it and road up to Chicago with a few guys to see Kyle Petty on the Sprint "Ride Across America". It was a fun ride, and we got to see Kyle.
Then Monday, after I got off of work I took it for a ride. Beautiful day, no kid (he was at daycare), wife was at work. Perfect time to ride. Well, I was turning left and an oncoming car just came over the crest of the hill that I was coming up on. I saw him and decided that I'd wait for him to pass before I turned.
Well, I was still leaning into the turn a little and I applied the front brake way to hard!!! Front tire locked up, slid out from under the bike, and down I went. BOOM!!! Onto my left side I fell.
Now a have a banged up bike, road rash on my left forearm, elbow, knee, ankle, and the top of my foot. Plus I'm in a temp cast from a hairline fracture in my left ankle.
I was only doing about 15 MPH went I ate asphault, but GØD DAMN did it hurt. Boy do I wish I would have sold it now!!!
Needless to say..... Now I'm gonna sell it!!! At least in my Camaro, road rash is much less likely to happen.
About the only good thing that came outta this is the fact that it was the ONE TIME that I didn't wear my helmet, and my head DIDN'T hit the pavement. Man am I lucky.
I can definetly say.... No more motorcycles for me. Four wheels, and a V8 are all that I'm gonna play with anymore.

Yea. About 4 or 5 cars stopped. Including the kid (about 20 yrs old). He appologized about 10 times. I told him it wasn't his fault, which it wasn't. Then I rode it to my wife's work to tell her. But it wasn't until after I got there that I realized I was hurt pretty bad.
BTW, thanks for your concern. I'm pretty much OK. My ankle is still swollen a little, but I'm walking on it. The road rash has turned into "nasty itch" now. It's hard as hell not to scratch it.
For those who don't know, road rash is not only scrapes on the skin, but also burns. The one on my forearm is about 1 ft. long and is now starting to blister just like a bad sunburn. The others (knee, elbow and ankle) are still just oozing puss.
I'm think I'm gonna sell the bike 'as is'. I'll be collecting the insurance money to repair it, but then sell the bike cheaper because it's broken. And that's if the frame isn't bent (IE if the bike isn't totalled). I figure someone is more likely to buy it if they can see what needs to be repaired. That way they don't think that it's a 'half ***, hurry up and sell it' kinda repair job. What do you think?
