Transmission: TH400/3500 Stall
Axle/Gears: 3.73
fuel to feed 383 TPI

Building a 383.have 180 SHP Dart heads.TPIS Mini Ram 2.xfi 280 comp cam.11.1 comp.! Thinking I need 30 lb injectors & 52 mm tb? I know fuel pump will have to be upgraded. Any suggestions?

Axle/Gears: 3.23 10bolt waiting to explode.

180cc heads seem small for a 383. that will probably limit your fueling right there.

30lb will probably work.

Planning on upgrading to 200 or 210 cc heads.already had purchased the 180'S before 383 was thought about.thanks for input!

30# will be more than enough unless you really plan on spinning it to the moon.

You can keep the 180 heads but you would have to get a smaller duration camshaft. The 195/200 heads would be great with the 280XFI, I ran that last year. If you use the 210 heads you will want a larger cam, those heads will need to peak higher than the 280 cam allows for. I think it's the 294XFI cam, it would work well. 30 pound injectors will be fine.

Yes, was going to mention that the cam is a mis-match for the heads. Its like running a CC306 cam on a stock LT1. You can do it, but the low end is soggy, due to the overlap and there isn't much top end because the heads choke the cam.

It'll work, and plenty of people do it. But its not optimal. To feed a 383 you really need more head.

Thanks Guys! Eng is still on stand till spring, so I have time to make changes.also rear end, trans,& converter will be upgraded.
