yeah man... i left after my first time trial run... i ran a 9.2 also... i was more discusted at the fact that thier pit area was horrible, by the looks of it they did no track prep whatsoever, and yes... 25bucks for 1/8th mile??? i suggest Cecil next year.
but i do agree. saturday made things worth while. even the caravan sunday morning was fun (never was in one before)

I left before I even ran. All you guys were showing up and I was already out the door. Sounds like I made the right decision ... specially since they only had 1/8.

sorry, but it was a learning experience.
What pissed me off the most, was the lack of pavement. I mean if they can charge $25 bux a head, they can afford some paved roads instead of grass and mud.
I won't even go into how I did on my run.

Sounds like someone who hasn't been to the track much. You go to the strip on the weekend when there is an event you can't expect to run. And the fee? Go to MIR on Saturdays for test and tune. They get $30. F****d up huh? Sure you didn't stage in the water box?

the track was crappy, they had more grass parking than pavement put together.

Im pissed. I still can't believe I ran a 11.7!!! 3.0 60 foot time LOL. I get better traction on wet pavement than on that track.
I think Ill be able to squeeze a 10 flat easy once i get the posi/gears in a couple weeks. I still need some carb tuning. Oh well Im gonna start going to the local track and get good at it.
By next year I hope to have heads/cam/traction.
The track was crappy but the meet was still awesome. It was really cool.
Good meet Mark. Count me in for next year!

Yeah I ran 9.5 spinning. I usaully have no problem running a in the high 8s as far as 1/8 mile is concerned. Just couldn't get any traction.

I kind of expected to hear this. They do have some crappy pit areas. My brother has been racing there for years but won't go if there was rain any time near the race day. There is also a nasty bump near the 60' mark that they've never bothered fixing.
Why was my post count deleted? It's been awhile since I posted but I had over 200 I think.

I am going to give Mason Dixon another shot on a non-event dry day.
Oh yeah, did anyone notice the track went downhill and hamburgers sucked?

Yeah ,that is the worst track I have ever been to I think.
Tracion was non existant first two passes but after sun came out it was pretty good.
Ended up going 7.53 which should equate to 11.67 1/4 but we will see thursday.mind you heads just went on car fridays it rained all day saturday and I drove 180 mile to Mason Dixon this morning.

The track was coming around with each pass for me. Started out at 8.1 and by the first round of elims, I was down to 7.70. That isn't too far off of where I usually run.
By my car is an 1/8 mile car...just the last 1/8
As an aside, at least the track was running. 75-80 was closed all weekend from the rain. You have to remember that we've been hit with rain almost daily. So it'll be a little more "dirtier" than usual.
That was the first time I've ever been to Mason-Dixon. Talked to my Dad after the event and he hasn't been up there since the mid 60's. I told him the only difference was probably the timing tower and no flag man

What pissed me off about the track (even though I wasn't running - I had the Jetta) was that they wouldn't call you on the mud on your tires until you got right to the staging/start line... wtf couldn't they call you on it in the staging lanes?! I must say, that was one of the crappiest tracks I've ever been to.

You run 12's and you ran a 9.5 there? I feel alittle better. Maybe I could squeeze off some halfway decent times with traction then.
Did you notice they were giving the ***** guys a really hard time about the mud. I rolled up with alot more mud than the cavalier guys did and they let me run.
They stopped a guy in a cavalier 2 or 3 times and he barely had any mud.
Im still impressed that the red honda civic hatchback ran a 8.3 early in the day.
Ive never been to another track so I have nothing to compare to. Thursday night im going to kanawha valley and running the 1/8 again. I need to muster up a better time.
I found one of my problems...detonation...Timing jumped again and I was running 18 degree base without the vaccum advance hooked up. I turned it down and the car feels alot better.
Oh well it was my first time. I blame half my bad time to my 3.0 60'! LOL

Alot of you ohio/maryland guys need to come visit my local track
"pittsburgh raceway park" located in new alexandria,pa.
New owners have really turned that track around, plus its IHRA so you can run 11.50 with out a cage.

I didn't have any real traction problems, of course I have no real power. I know what you guys are saying, though.
Yeah, Fredzep, I think the track does run down hill - that's probably why my car ran better than I expected. And I was warned about the food.
Oh, and one thing no one's mentioned - they were such FRIENDLY people.

I dont think that I have ever seen so many hillbillies in one place
I was personally just glad to get to track in one piece after the rt.70 caravan stopping in the middle of the road ordeal
It was fun though.

Likewise, he was somewhat rude and I MUST have missed that his name was written on that spot of mud!

I thought the tech guys were asses. I'm sorry I only got to run against a civic both times same civic. Wooped it's *** though. Misserable traction!!!!!!!!!! Maybe slicks are in order. Got alot of help on diagnosing with a laptop though. Good times overall.

I have been to a lot of tracks. None of which were as bad to have dirt and grass pits. They at least had a paved staging? Glad I went home saturday night.
I think we need to have the gathering at Atco! Even on a sunday, you can expect to get in like 3 runs. And track prep is top notch.
