Track results---Finally

Finally got the car to the track for a couple of runs last night. Made 3 runs with the best et and mph of 12.250@110.137 with a 1.721 60ft. Best 60ft was 1.699 on and unprepped track.

The car was misfiring just before the shifts at 5800 rpm. Not sure what was causing it. Has anyone ever had an MSD rpm module that would cut in at a lower rpm than it was labelled. The misfire sounded just like the rev limiter cutting in and I had a 6300rpm pill in at the time.

I had a similar problem last year. Just as I was reaching my shift point, it started to misfire. I found my rev limiter wasn't set high enough. I was shifting at 6800 and the limiter was set for 7000. It doesn't take much to go 200 rpm above the shift point to hit the limiter. I bumped up the limiter to 7200 and the misfire went away.

Try a different or higher pill in the MSD box to see if the miss goes away. Mine's all digital so I don't have to worry about pills.

I put it a 6700 pill and tried it again. The misfire seems to have gone away. I guess next time I will take the extra pills with me to the track.

Glad to hear that the problem was something so simple. Should pick up an easy couple of tenths the next time around just by not having the rev limiter come on. Shifting at higher rpms (peak hp) will also help pick up another couple tenths.

I want to see you pull off an 11s pass (all motor) on cruise weekend.

What kind of tach are you using? If its the stocker it might be off by about that much. What are the specs on the motor?

I am using an AutoGage aftermarket tach. Don't think it would be out that far. Most of the specs are in the sig.
