Re: 91 tube chassis project

Well actually switch motor combos all together. The car now with offset plates that I have on the new motor plate can run small block or big block Chevy. Have the headers built and rigged for the big block and motor plate is done the small block I’m still making headers. Wanted the car to be versatile if I ever switch off the small block platform I’m now using. 406 ci NA at moment looking into building a blown 406 ci after car is done and shook down etc

yes that’s the master cylinder in the floor with a cover. This being its straight to the brake pedal rod and out from under the engine Bay Area for just more room. With that being said we mounted my dads on his new Chevy 2 on the firewall and used a heim jointed rod that works smoothly in and out the master cylinder.

Re: 91 tube chassis project

Well, how is the car coming? It’s the coldest day of the year here in buffalo, I imagine your working on the car in Kentucky on a cold day. I have to ask about your seat, looks like the third one you have had in the car, Does it give you the most head room? Best comfort? , if so , what brand is it? . Post some more pics too!!!!, thanks, have a good one

well it’s been cold here to. Not our coldest of the year but a good cold snap compared to what we’ve been having. Yes it’s my third seat and it gives me most comfort space head room and is the lightest which is a plus. It’s a wild side composite dragster seat and me and a buddy fanned the Tim McAmis seat frame kit to work for it.

Re: 91 tube chassis project

Eberything around here here is cancelled cause the beer virus but I have gotten a lot of work done. Waiting on wiring parts and few driveline parts. And switched motors back to a big block combo so i won’t be out this year gunna do everything right and build a good 496-505 ci motor and go from there.

The tracks around here don’t open till first weekend in May. I’m hoping the virus lockdown is over by then. My car is coming along, but won’t be ready till next year

Re: 91 tube chassis project

Sorry for the lack of updates covid got us done good. We’re all healthy but it hurt the household and we’re finally recovering from the impact. Do have a few new pictures. Block for the motor is at the machine shop and hopefully ordering rotating assembly soon! Heads are going together also just have to order valve springs and they are all fresh.

On the ground carbon is all sealed underneath and ready for finishing touches.

Car is looking real good. Really like the stance. Glad everyone is healthy.
I have been hanging my doors this past week. That has been a challenge

Re: 91 tube chassis project

No all my fiberglass is VFN brand. All but the hood and back bumper fit great. Had to trim deck lid a touch and cut bumper in half cause it was way to wide. But I got it all fitting good.

Re: 91 tube chassis project

On doors doors I learned with mine and my dads new car which is an fiberglass body car that taking ur time and making a jig to make sure the hinges are 100% straight up and down from each other helps. Shouldn’t allow them to fall when u open them. We used all thread and bolted the hinges together and mounted them that way with a square and level.

Re: 91 tube chassis project

Took your advice on hanging the doors, they came out great, lift off good and open straight!!! Been making progress on mine during COVID. Still have a lot to do. Front is coming together nice now that the doors are in place. How is your car coming, looked close to painting the last time I checked?
