1/2 mile racing

Does anybody on here have any experience on running in the 1/2 mile. I wanted to try something different so I grabbed spotty information and started building towards that. Im running a supercharged lq9 with ls3 heads(heads are temporary) a 4l80 and a Ford 9 w/3.70 gears in retrospect i should have went with the 3.50's but its ok. Doesn't seem there are any videos or web pages mostly it seems like everyone is starting from an amazing start... new corvettes/mustangs or exotics. Thanks for any advice.

Axle/Gears: 12 bolt w/ 3.91

no experience with 1/2 mile racing, but it certainly sounds awesome.
where will you be doing this? at an airport runway ?

There is a race track in northern virginia that had a race once... that gave me the idea it seems alot more popular in florida texas and California. I figured it 1/2 mile racing is more like we race on the street now a days. Not alot of light to light in this area.
