F/S 383 stroker and built 700r4

383 stroker motor with approx 2k on it. Has brand new world product sportman 2 heads. Has a edlbrock victor single plane intake w/ a 625 demon carb. Also have a msd pro billet dist. w/ a 6al box and a blaster 2 coil. Have 1 5/8 headman headers to go with but stock oil pan and pump would have to be put back on to work. Trans is a built 700r4 w/ a 3000 stall converter that came out of a mid 10 second car. Has approx the same mileage.

The trans came out of a 10 sec car. I never had it dinoed but im guessing somewere around 400-425hp range. Im not looking to seperate them. Would rather sell together.

I reallydont know how the bottom end was done. I bought it complete from a guy my brother use to work with. All i know is that it has flat top pistons with a compression ratio of 10.5 to 11.1. Im not sure of weather the crank is cast or forged or what length the rods are. I only know as far as what ive done to it. Witch is the oil pump, oil pan, cam, gear drive, 2 piece timing cover, heads, and intake.

might i suggest finding out what was done to it. no one will want to buy something without details and forged internals or not it makes a difference. if it's truly that big of a motor then it's worth the money. people will know when you find out the internals. otherwise it could be high.

figure it out and i'm sure it will sell..

good luck, it looks nice at least.

I would be all over this motor if 1) it deffinately has forged internals and 2) I had the money now

Like Kandied said...the more info you can give, the easier it will be to sell.

Apparently you were misinformed. I can get a complete Forged bottom end for a 383 for $1800

yes 383 forged shortblocks can be had for 1500-2000 easily but the type of internals, brand and work all varries. for example gm sells their 383 for $3,200 however it's only a forged crank. you pay for the name and warranty here as well as insurance that you know it will work.

you could not duplicate a good trans, 10sec complete motor with heads and ignition as well as headers for $2,500 that easily. it would take a do it yourselfer and some hard work.

you should figure out what parts you have, you either have something really nice for cheap or something cheap for a decent price. either way if it runs with no issues it sounds fair.

Car: 67 camaro ( project )
Engine: 6.7 408 n a snail
Transmission: 4l80 - stalled
Axle/Gears: 3.25 - narrowd tci kit 9 inch
you can easily build a 383 stroker motor for under 2500.00. wher e i live here in memphis 350 blocks are everywhere. 400 cranks are a dime a dozen. rods are flying all over the place and heads seem to fall from trees. mabey its because the south has alot of junk yards i dunno. but my friend just built his 388 ( bored .40 over i believe if im not mistaken) for probly less then 1700. the biggest cost was the new forged steel crank which was like 700.00. if its all forged w/ some good rods then 2500 isnt a bad price for a used 383. but to say a bottom end cant be built for 2500 is rediculous.

U guys are right. I was mistaken on the machine shop costs. But for all the stuff im including with it is a real good price. The heads i just bought are about a grand alone and i havent run it sence i installed them. plus im including all the ignition, carb and a built trans with a stall. Theres no way anyone could duplicate this for 2500.
