Hooker 2460 headers WITH Y pipe & hollow converter
These are the thicker gauge headers with the traditional 3" gasketed header collectors. They are used, no air tubes. The Y pipe runs in the stock locations and the converter is in the stock location--this will bolt right up, they y-pipe is already made--so the sticking point of the 2460's is not an issue.
Asking $200, buyer pays shipping, but the y-pipe is all one piece so I would recommend pickup in order to avoid huge shipping cost.

Primaries are 1 5/8" (I think only $LP makes 1 3/4" shorties), Y dia looks to be 2.75"-3", convertor looks to be stock from something (its hollow anyway). I can measure the Y tonight & call you if you are interested, just e-mail your telephone.
I notice you are in Wi, I work in the North suburbs so if you chose to pick up I can save you 40 miles.

Guys,
I was only able to get to this late last night and I was taking pictures of a few other things I'm selling & I forgot to actually measure the Y, but it looks the same as the headers' collectors, which are 3". Anyways, I will do that tonight, please pardon the delay.

Okay, I measured the Y pipe and from the Y and behind the converter it is indeed 3." Pipes from the headers to the Y are 2.25"--any bigger and you will lose velocity & thus power on all but the wildest combos & you would start to loose ground clearance because of the curve required on the drivers side. The way it is now would be great for a street 305-350. I was going to run it a street driven 383. I can find out about shipping.

What's the point in having a 3 in exhaust back from the cat back if the headers are only 2.25 inches? Does it matter or what? If it doesnt matter, why do they sell 3 in y-pipes? I was told by a friend that if your y pipe is 2.5 in, then even if you have 3 in pipes, your exhaust really isnt a 3 in exhaust bc of the restriction of the y-pipe.
Is this true?

The 2.25" pipes go from the header collector to meet at the Y. They handle the exhaust from only one bank of cylinders (half the engine), until they meet up at the Y, which from then on is 3". The idea is that at the point at which they meet up and everything thereafter is a single exhaust for both banks of cylinders, hence the requirement for the larger 3" diameter. This makes for an exhaust velocity that is more consistent throughout the exhaust than one that has every pipe at 3". Think of it like two one lane roads smoothly merging together to form one two lane road & how smooth traffic would flow, versus two two lane roads merging together to form one two lane road. A little different, but it gets the point across. The Y pipes that are advertised as 3" have a design just like mine with smaller (2-2.5") individual pipes, that become 3" where the pipes come together (i.e. the Y).
The thing to avoid, are Y pipes like flowtech which have a restrictive Y (more like a T) pipe with little difference from stock, or hedman which has a 2.25-2.5" pipe after the Y, which is a bottleneck to flow.

The convertor is hollow; yes, I could remove it but would only do so after I receive payment.
To those inquiring about shipping: If this is to be shipped with the Y pipe as 1 piece, I'm pretty sure it will need to be put on a pallet. I would guess the wieght will be probably around 30lbs or less, pallet and all, so you should be able to get a shipping est. based on this. I've not seen boxes I could buy that would fit the Y pipe as one piece.
I can 'disassemble' they Y so that shipping would go easier, but its all welded now and you'd have to put it back together. Again, if someone wants this done I would only do so after I receive payment.

I looked at it again, and it looks like I can remove the convertor just after the Y and fit everything into a box. It then could be reattached with a slip fit/clamp, just like a factory setup. I will check on this tonight and get some basic shipping estimates for those interested.
