Everyone complains that 305's aren't worth much because 350's are cheaper to build for power.

Well I'm looking for a used mill, something that runs, cheap. I need a pre-87 block, complete at least to the heads. I don't necessarily need an intake. Would like the serpentine setup if I could get it, but mostly I need a cheap running mill that I can bolt up my accessories to and slap an intake on to replace my tired 305.

If I could get a 350 cheap I'd go that route, but I only have a few hundred to spend.

It must be pre-87 though, unless you're going to sell me a complete intake as well.

I know that's a tall order, but that's what the internet's for, to look for hard to find things.

I've found rebuilt 305's complete with only 15k on them for $50 on this board, but they were post 87's, and too far for me to drive for.

I'm near Cleveland.

How far do you want to drive? I'm 45 miles west of Chicago. Got a 305 with 70k on it from my 86t/a tpi ws6. Ran great when pulled.

I was hoping for something within 2-3 hours drive. I might be opened to paying shipping, but that depends on the final price. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to spend, but this is my daily driver and I need it reliable, so I have to try.
