14014416 305 HO heads
I have come across someone selling a set of these 14014416 heads. My understanding is that they are a good candidate for porting, polishing, and a step up from my 305 tbi heads. Also usable on a 350 in the future. Apparently they have been rebuilt and used for only 5000 miles on a show car. $100, Good deal if they have no cracks. Obviously a new cam will be in order.
Am I right with the points listed above?

I don't know about the porting part but the number is the same as the stock heads on my '84 Z28 305.

concentrate on the carbide cutter work and then use the stones to smooth it all out.
You`ll want to get a t least on cutter with a 6 inch long shaft to get deep in the port around the guide from the gasket side.
Seems to be a good deal especially if you can get them for under $100.
If you can inspect the guide wear. Pull a valve out off its seat about 1/2 inch.
rock the valve in its guide. Should only have very slight rocking clearance.
If the valve stem- guide clearance is excessive , include that cost to refurbish them in your total budget.
Have a look and make a reasonable cash offer on them based on your inspection.

Is there a way to tell if they are warped in any way?
Will they bolt right up to my 89 or is there a differance in pattern or angle?

You would use a machinist's straight edge to check the decks for warping.
The intake bolt pattern is standard sbc from 55 up.
If using a TBI intake the center intake bolts holes are at a different angle from standard.
