Nitrous/ computer chip question

I wasn't quite sure under which board i should post this, but i figured you guys would know. I'm putting a nitrous kit on my camaro and need to upgrade the stock ignition setup. I was looking at different ignitions (paticularly MSD) and the only difference i noticed between the 6A and 6AL is the rev limiter. My friend told me to find out what the stock chip's rev limter is so that maybe i could save a few bucks. If anyone knows which i should go with or can suggest another route, please reply. thanks again-you guys have helped me a ton with my car.

Well, the stock chip doesent have a rev limiter. And dont use ANY aftermarket chips with nitrous. You need to pull timing while spraying, where as aftermarket chips add timing. Too much timing + nitrous = detonation = bye bye pistons. From what I understand, you DO NOT want to run a rev limiter while spraying either. The reason you upgrade your ignition for power adders, such as nitrous, is to get a perfect reliable spark. The last thing you wanna do when spraying is to hit your revlimiter and cut the spark... that would be catostrophic to an engine, especially at a high RPM.

Hope this helps.

people need aftermarket ignition to cut spark as a rev limitor

the problem comes when the stock computer cuts FUEL and the car pops lean.

If you need the rev limitor lifted send me the chip with a return paid envolope. I'll do it for you.

Send me the Broadcast code first. its possible you don't even have a rev limitor
