250 Shot of nos

I was wondering if running a 250 shot of nos that would kick in at 4000RPM would put less stress on the stock components? I want to get away with as mcuh stock stuff as i can with this type of setup for cost reasons.

P.S. The engine will deffinently handle this(forged piston, forged crank, eagle rods) mainly talking about driveline

Depends on your supporting components. I just killed my tranny's 3-4 clutch pack and 2-4 band with way less than a 250 shot. As long as the tranny and convertor are up to the power, you could save the rearend by spraying past the tree.

If you're worried about the stress on the engine, go progressive.

If in doubt of your tranny, shut if off between the shifts.

Window switch. What do you plan on shifting at? 4000 is a little high. You really won't get as much out of your system buy spraying that high. Just curious, what kind (brand) of forged parts did you get?

Flip the switch off when you're about to shift, then flip it back on.

If you want the nitrous to shut off during a shift use a window switch. Start sparying at 3500 and shut if off a few hunderd RPM before you shift. A 250 shot is going to be hell on the stock stuff that thing will make a lot of torque and torque is what kill parts. Shutting the nitrous off between shift want let the car run to it's best.

Just a guess, but a RPM window switch will not work like some have suggested. Say it kicks on at 3000 RPM, and shuts off at 5700 RPM and you shift at 6000 RPM. As soon as the engine's RPMs drop below 5700 RPMs, the NOS will kick back on and hit the shift. It's fairly easy to let up on the NOS during the shift, but can be a little inconsistent.

Now if there is some hysteresis in the system, I'm sorry for this post.

I got JE forged pistons. If shuting it off doesnt alow me to run my best, then there is really no point. What about a manual?

do you guys consider how hard it is, with a non progressive nitrous shot, turning on and off and on and off and on?

i would NEVER do that on my car if i had a choice.

its an automatic, sack up and let the nitrous FLOW!

just save up your pennies and buy a spare tranny/converter.

its not hard at all if you place the switch right. i even considered using a B&M corded switch so i could just hold onto the steering wheel or wherever i wante dit to be when i was spraying.

thats why, if you have a manual, you also put a WOT switch so that when you're shifting, its not spraying. unless you powershift, in which case you'd shift fast enough, I would think, that it wouldnt be a problem.
