Yet another Turbo build
87 Camaro 350 TPI 993 heads on forged flat tops. 8.7 to 1. 212/212 @ .050 cam.
The Goal.
12.00 1/4 with stock like manners and milage. Spend money only where required and make things as simple as possible to get to the goal.
The Plan.
Single Turbo (not yet decided probably Master Power T-70) Stock Manifold Left side and custom on the right side.
Intercooler (Cut down from a kenworth truck)
42# injectors with Modifed 749 ECM or Megasquirt EFI 255 LPH HP intank pump.
10 to 15 PSI boost. (Whatever it takes).
Plumming will consist of lots of mandrel bends and a mig welder. With a 3" exhaust and Magnaflow muffler.
The driveline is a rebuilt and slightly upgraded 700R4 and the stock dif. This stuff will be replaced when it fails.
I have done a twin turbo 5.0L stang before and found good results. My current questions right now center around turbo choices. I want this turbo to match the low end torque motor that this 350 is. I want to have full boost at 2500 RPM and make a max of 500 hp. This within the 5000 to 5200 RPM that the stock TPI limits me too.
IDEAS???

Great project. Can't wait to see the results.
You shouldn't need to run too much more than 10 psi though. I've run a 12.4 @ 113mph on drag radials (actually did a 13.0 at 117mph on a cool day with street tires and a very bad 60'). This was at 6psi of boost from two junkyard volvo turbos that were very restrictive above 4500rpm. I'm probably runningclose to 12.0 trap speeds if I could learn to drive the thing. I would think 10psi should hit your goal.
I'm thinking the T70 is a bit large for the RPM range and goals you have set. I think I would be looking at a T58. But lets see if someone with more knowlege can back me up.
