F1 or D1sc Questions
I had a few questions if anyone can give me some input. Im doing a
427 small block buildup
CR is gunna be a tad over 9:1.
555Hp 520 Ft/Lb Naturally aspirated
Aiming at the 825Hp mark on pump gas
And this is a Street Car, seeing the drag strip occasionally on the weekend
....Im torn between a D1SC or the F-1 procharger. Im just Wondering IF...
-825hp is a bit too close to the Max hp of the D1SC, and would that cause the air intake to be hotter since its working harder?
-Can the F-1 Run low boost Equally as efficent as the D1SC?, Because I plan on running 5lbs of boost untill i get an intercooler setup i like, then jump it upto 10lbs.
- I know 10lbs of boost is Well within the capabilities of the D1SC, But with this being a bit bigger displacement than an average Small block (427), and makin upwards of 800hp+, i would imagine the D1SC would have to work harder to make the boost levels. Would that justify bumpin upto the F1?
Thanks for your help in advance guys. I just wanna get things cleared up and right before i shell out $3 grand

Re: F1 or D1sc Questions
I'd go with the F1 right off the bat. Although the D1SC is capable of 825 HP, you're going to be limited by the crappy tensioner that comes with the L98 F-body kit, which means you'll need a bigger blower to hit your goal. You could possibly hit your goal with a D1SC if you were willing to lose your A/C and go with the Carb Chevy bracket. That bracket has a better tensioner.

Re: F1 or D1sc Questions
Thanks KS91Z28 for the help. Ive decided to go with the F-1 now. Also i got the compression down to about 8.8 :1, so i may run a little more boost then originally planned, making the F-1 a perfect choice.
