Re: how/when do i use my nitrous

look at NOS's progressive controller. Its not just a "MPH" or "RPM" controller, it allows you to choose a % of the shot to be sprayed over a certain period of time/RPM.

So you can gradually spray your engine to help hook up rather than just a straight shot. Runs about $300

The EBL is almost a must in my opinion

EBL - Fully tuneable(word?) ECM. Its amazing.

the NOS Progressive controller. - http://www.amazon.com/NOS-15834NOS-P.../dp/B000COXECU

http://www.amazon.com/NOS-15835BNOS-.../dp/B000COYAVE

Ive talked to Rbob about it(not this specific controller but a controller in general) and he was saying that its hard on the solenoid. which makes sense.

"Programmable Progressive Nitrous Controller (Kit #0050NOS recommended) – This top–of–the–line unit can be programmed to control both the amount of nitrous that is flowed to the engine (from 20–100%) and the time desired to “ramp up” from first hit to full flow. For example, you can program the controller to flow 25% of the nitrous 1.5 seconds into the run and increase it to 75% nitrous at 5.3 seconds. Or, it can go all the way to 100% much sooner. This enables a racer to “fine tune” the power curve of an engine to best utilize prevailing conditions. It can also be used to activate a retard box or 2nd stage of nitrous. "

Are you carbed? Pretty sure EBL is for EFI vehicles but you should talk to rbob. if your carbed i wouldnt bother with EBL. But the progressive controller will help when trying to spray(if the nitrous is the cause of traction loss)

No use buying a progressive controller now then. Probably best to figure out your N/A traction issues before spraying

For now, please work on the suspension. try lower control arm relocation brackets and move the arms down to the lower holes. That will help some. Tires will make MOST of the difference. Run a drag radial if you can and as long as you dont drive inthe rain. Mickey Thompson ET street radials, BFG drag radials, or the new nitto NT05R's are great street/strip tires. The hoosier drag radials are race only, they are way too soft for the street and will wear down very quickly. Drag radials will wear down quick no matter what but some last alot longer than others

See what that does. When I had my 383 stealth ram motor it made 400whp and I could hook most of the time at the top of first gear. From a dead stop, obviously it would burn out but the big 295/30/19's bridgestone potenzas are sticky for a street tire and it would catch, as long as the streets were warm. Winter time 40 deg stuff everything was hard and wouldnt hook.
With a 150 shot, the car ran 10.6's and I could still hook from 45mph rolls when spraying. I never tried spraying on the street in first gear from a roll or start, but I bet the street wouldnt hold it. I run the same tires on my twin turbo car and on lowest boost setting, its about as fast as the nitrous car was, if not abit more power and it roasts tires off in first gear but will hold in 2nd from a lower 40mph roll.

So I think with some tires and suspension work you will be ok. Tub rear ends are more for race only cars. Theres no reason why you cant hook up on factory wheel wells with modern sticky tires and good suspension work at lower mph rolls. Its highly unlikely you will hook in first on the spray on the street so just get used to that

At the track on sticky surface prep, on drag radials it should dead hook and never spin at all.
