Rear mount charge pipe route question

So I finally got my Holley HP EFI installed and the car is running smooth. I am adding an STS rear mount turbo. How are you rear mount turbo guys routing you charge pipe????

Also, anyone using the ZZ409 cam with boost? If so, how is it responding? I'm looking to run 8-10lbs.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Re: Rear mount charge pipe route question

When i was contemplating doing my other car, i debated on running charge pipes down stock exhaust location. My twin turbo car runs dual 3" exhaust down stock location so you can fit a single exhaust plus charge pipe all the way up to front subframe. Only issue is once you get towards where the y pipe comes down around behind the passenger front tire well, you wont have room for the charge pipe, so it would have to dip under trans xmember area/subframes by trans bellhousing. That can get tricky for clearance purposes

If you had shorty headers of some sort or manifolds and had a ypipe made where it was able to connect before coming around behind the passengerfront tire well, then you may fit charge pipe all the way up through there.

So i was also thinking of running down driveshaft tunnel along fuel line routing side. I was gonna run 2.5" pipe for this mild 500 hp idea. Could snake it through trans xmember and come up under passenger side header i think. It would be tight depending what your exhaust manifolds look like. Long tubes no way. Shorties positioned right may have a chance

Thanks. I am running a 2.5" charge pipe. I believe I have it figured out. Meeting with my fabricator tomorrow morning to discuss my idea(s). I'll post up some pictures when we get it nailed down. I really wanted to see some pictures of what guys have done. Haven't seen a single picture of a rear mount that shows the install from front to back. (on a 3rd gen)

Re: Rear mount charge pipe route question

Honestly there isn't many guys that run this setup on here, if any... Its to bad too cause I think its not a bad setup for what it is.

This is the only pic I could find that I had saved on my computer but might give you some ideas, not sure who's car it was.
