I'll bring dogs and buns, mayo, mustard, relish, chili, and cheese for said dogs, and if I feel really generous, I'll grab some 12 packs of coke. Obviously depending on how many people we're talking about.

On another note, is there anyone planning on going to the track, but NOT racing? It'd be great to be able to get some of this stuff out of our cars to make some runs

We will bring a couple packs of dogs and buns.

Mrs. Zap will probably make up a batch of her potato salad or some baked beans or something like that.

Yeah, I figure for those of us that are not "on the bottle", we could use a little extra "poot" at the strip!

I guess depending on how much u eat (beans that is), U could be packing a 50 shot or maybe even a 100 shot!

Since I won't have Larry's Nittos to use this time, I'm gonna start packing them down 2-3 days in advance--I'll be packing a 300 shot!!! WATCH OUT GUYS!!!

Mrs Zap said she's not sure if she's gonna drive her RS to this one--may just ride in my car, however if I'm packing a 300 shot, I have a feeling she will be driving her own car!

Please sign-up.

Also, please bring something, it sucks when only a few people bring stuff, and everyone eats it all.

If you all ever meet a little farther west I might add to the seniors' representation. They're building a new drag strip between Midland and Odessa, only a full day's drive from Houston.

wow, something to finally do out there!

Sorry, but I hated Midland/Odessa when I stayed there 1 night 2 years ago, don't ever plan on going back.

Well, I only go into that city area when I get tired of watching the grass grow. Visited Houston once--people were thick as flies--came to a stop right on the highway just because there were too many cars! Somebody said they have something called "smog laws," a pity.

Alright folks, here's what we've got volunteered so far:

StevenK - 2 bottles for each person, chocolate chip cookies

TexasLT1 - 2 packs each of hotdogs and buns, mayo, mustard, relish, chili, cheese, 2 12 packs of Coke

20N!N - Cokes and chips

Zap Racing - dogs and buns, potato salad or baked beans

FBodTrek - fajitas?

tamatt27 - 12 pack of Dr. Pepper, plates

Looks like most things are covered, but can some of the rest of you help spread out the load a little bit? Looks like we could still use:

napkins/paper towels
ice and icechest
cups or cans only for drinks
plastic utensils

all I can think of right now.

What we REALLY need is a support vehicle...perhaps a pickup truck. Just incase we have a breakdown (highly likly, these cars aren't too reliable). It would be nice to have a safe place to stow things like coolers, jack, road tires, etc. I might see if my father can play escort service in his pickup. I might be driving up there myself, but unless I get my car problems sorted out, I might miss this one . I've never been to HRP, but I hear it gets pretty crowded (not like HMP i hear). ANyhow, we'll see. (And as far as Fajitas go....iffy. I may just bring beverages this time, moneys been tight lately, got a house to help my folks pay off).

Mrs ZAP says we have some cups, paper plates, and maybe some plastic forks knives etc, that we ended up with the last gathering that I will bring. I will look and try to update.

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BRING SOME CHARCOAL AND STARTER FLUID OR WE WILL HAVE NO WAY TO COOK UP ALL THESE GOOD MUNCHIES!!!

I have supplied the charcoal, hickory and starter fluid, and cooking utensils for the last 2 gatherings and have volenteered it for the Dec annual gathering (Jan 1st) so somebody else can do it this time.

Would that be 100, 150, or 200 shot beans?

Gee, if MRS. ZAP sends baked beans and Barry brings his beans, it's going to be like the campfire scene in the movie, Blazing Saddles!!!

Alright, looks like I'll be bringing a few more people. Trying to get both my parents to come, could probably do the video taping at the track. My brother and his girlfriend are trailering his car, best friend and his girlfriend will probably go, as well as 2 more friends of ours. I'll bring a little extra hotdogs and stuff for them so that no one else has to cover them, just a headsup though.

I was just reminded, that at HRP, if U run faster than 14.0 ET U MUST have a helmet! I think, if U go through tech and are not sure what U run, U get one run and then they will wipe your number.

Larry Dunlap went out there a few months ago and found this out. Maybe Larry or others who have run at HRP that are more familar with this rule can shed more light on this.

I have a helmet and will bring it and will be glad to loan it out (as long as U are not using axle bearing grease on your hair).

If this is the way it is, then anybody that has a helmet needs to bring it!

Posted about the helmet thing in the dedicated thread.

As far as food goes, it looks like we're going to have a pretty good turnout. After class later I'll post a tally of what we've got so far and see if we still need anything else.

All Right, the weather forecast is looking good! We are looking forward to the gathering, looks like a good mix of nuts.

This will be the first we've attended, so we'll bring basic cook out menu:

Charcoal and Starter
1 pkg Hot Dogs
1 pkg Buns
2 pkg Chips
12 pk Pepsi
1 case Water
Paper Towels
Plastic Forks
Tongs (no "H")!
Does anyone have / expect to bring kids?
Got an 8 year old Grandson I'll share (3rd Gen Wheel Spin :lala: )

How do we sit on a support vehicle?
I can bring the 99 F-150 for gear stowage at the track (just be careful on the Paint!), otherwise bringing the Mrs' 04 Marauder for a few passes in addition to the Formula.

Support vehicle should be fine, my parents are towing my brother's car to the track, so they'll also have it at the meet. Obviously, I didn't update the list. I'll try and do that tonight so that we know how we stand on food.

Yeah! Two cars to run!

OK, I'm probably overkill on food for a gathering, but it's brought to share. REALLY suprised no jokes re:

EXCESS TURKEY

Who's gonna beat STUFFING out of who?

If it just stops raining soon enough to get the new exhaust on....

the wife came in last night with half the grocery store last night and I raided some of the stash. she picked up some dogs (need buns though), and we have some chips (cool ranch, any other orders?). I was also gonna pick up either dr pepper or barq's root beer since most people like one or the other. anyone have a preference, or want something else?
