Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Oh I understand. I just wanted to let you all know we would be excited to get some out of staters coming. there may be a texas flag in the logo, but I named it thirdgen roundup instead of TexasThirdGens for a reason. I want this to grow every year, and eventually be a national event.
I could see it being in Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, OKC, KC, st louis, or any midwestern city.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
I mean that is just my opinion. Just think our cars don't do great for milage and gas is expensive. Then also being that the cars are over 20 years old, oout always easy to maintain. Ha this is coming from a guy who does not even have a driveable third gen. But once I start to build my next one I want to go everywhere in it!i0would really like to go on the hot rod power tour within 10 years. If it was a moving location might be neat like one in tx and then ok then surrounding areas? That way some locals could come. ANd even though I can't drive my third gen I would still gather with locals with my subaru lol

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
HI everyone. Im sorry I posted a new thread up top. I didnt even notice this one not really thinking right now. LOL. Im here in Coweta, OK- bout 20 miles east of Tulsa. I have a 1991 Firebird Base with a 350 swap and T5 tranny. I give more info in my other post. I would love to get together with some local third gen people. I just got mine running about 3 weeks ago. It still needs a little bit of work to be running perfect. My tranny is acting up but hopefully gonna fix that soon. Need new carb and tires but doing tires this weekend. Im looking at 235/60/15 all the way around. Is that a good size tire for stock rims. I would like wider in the back if anyone could give me some pointers thanks. Well talk to ya'll later.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Hello everybody, I am moving to oklahoma city this may with my soon to be wife. She's found a nice job out there and I am hoping to do the same. We found a place on the south side of Edmond, and my only requirement was a garage, which we found . I have only been out there 2 time but it looks like a pretty nice place to live, although it may be a little bit warmer that indiana in the summer. That might take some getting used to

WEll with the past few years there has been a need for snow tires, but its so bad you should not attempt with a third gen regardless of tire lol

*Sigh* Wife shot me down on this, so I'm spreading the word.
Unusual looking deck lid there. Might be cool.
Plus take some rubbing compound to the t-tops, find a stock spoiler in pull-a-part for the factory lid, then you can keep the "custom" lid and still turn a nice profit. That was my plan anyway, but I guess the garage is too full already....
Edit: I arranged to buy it anyway. Pics soon.
He's still got the t-tops on CL tho.

WOW! there are still some Third-genners still around Oklahoma! At one point in time, I had a two fairly clean Third-gens... About the same time this thread started! The Monte survived, the f-bodies moved on.. There's still a place in my heart for them, though..
At any rate, Hello from Tulsa!

Hello,
What would be a location to have a Texas-Oklahoma Thirdgenroundup? My friend 58Mark (and his wife) are the main people behind the www.thirdgenroundup.com & it is possible to do this? And how many people with running thirdgens is there ? And i am just wondering if there is any interest at all.........

it's funny 1fas92 would post this, because I was just discussing this exact subject with lo-z (new president of NTTGA)
he was mentioning Denton as a possibility for a northtexas gathering. I might be willing to go up to Gainsville, but we would have to see that there are enough people in OK that would be willing to meet us halfway. it wouldn't make since to put it an hour north of dallas if we are only going to gain two people from oklahoma

i drove her out to denton to the track 2 years ago. i'd be down for it as long as the date was picked by someone with intelligence to the area (aka NOT A METEROLOGIST!) ttops with black leather, no a/c, and a black car ain't no fun in late july!
maybe a little more north of denton would be ok with me too but denton aint that bad of a drive! can someone start a thread with a sticky so we can all scribe and keep track of it all....

I know it may seem a ironic, But what if we had it here? In Mustang(haha get it), We have a crapload of "stangs out here and it would be AWESOME to have some more 3rd Gens around(all we got here is 3 Camaro's, and a handful of T/A's), Plus the Community Center out here is perfect, A Massive open field a big parking lot, they have alot of car shows and gatherings there all the time, It would be a perfect place.

RedRagTop, i work off and on with a body shop on the southside of okc, C&M Customs, they do great work, for a decent price, get in contact with me via PM, and i can get you setup with a phone number and a reference. ALSO UPDATE: Got it timed and carb tuned, only to find out cylinders 3 and 5 only had a compression of 25 while the rest are at 125(rings, bearings), lookin around at some crate engines..hopefully i can get it handled...

PM sent. Thanks.
There used to be a Camaro graveyard out here some where. It was in Central Oklahoma or South Kansas. Any ever heard of it or remember it?
Dyeing the rear seats tomorrow and then putting it back together. I will post some pics when I get it done.
