Re: The Oklahoma Thread
welcome man, I'm pretty sure I've seen your car at one of the Tuesday night Fuddrucker's meet. It was definitely surprising to see what you had under the hood lol... I have an old 84 4Runner here in Tulsa, but I also have a blue 91 that I'm building back in Houston (currently slowly gathering parts for an LSx/M6 swap) If you need a hand wrenching once you pick up a 3rdgen, dont hesitate to shoot me a pm bud

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Just FYI, LKQ in west OKC has about a dozen thirdgens, mostly complete. About even on Camaros vs 'birds. Quite a few 4th gens, but they are all v6ers. Pull-a-part south of downtown had an LT1 last time I was there.... Both places are ~$225 for an engine.

That is good to hear, the LKQ in Tulsa only has a couple in poor condition at any given time.

FYI; I am selling a lot of engine parts that I would like to have local transactions with. Check out the engine parts for sale forum if you are interested.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
^I can't use anything, but good luck with the sale.
If anyone wants anything powder coated, I highly recommend Performance Coatings, near the Capitol area. Good turn around time, good prices, and excellent work.
I had these crappy valve covers from pull-a-part....
And they made them awesome.
Seriously crappy cell pics. These things are incredibly clean and shiny. The pics are crap, not the work.

^Also good to know: American Camaro negotiates on pricing now.
I needed a 2.8 upper intake manifold for a project. LKQ wanted $25 plus $4 core, but I was busy & didn't grab it. So on my lunch break I called up AC&F. The phone gal asked Gary, and I about pooped when they came back with $65. I stammered an excuse about checking around on prices, and she asked me how much their competition was. I told her, she came back with "How about $35? And you don't have to pull it?" I swung by and got it. Yeah, they're still high, but not laughably so anymore.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Ill be moving down to the Tulsa area here in the next week or so, so my ride will be coming in on a trailer behind my pickup, dont want to drive it all the way down there and trailer the wife's sedan. Its a Red 86 TA T-top with a silver (decal?) just above the lower trim and wraps around. Here is a pick of my ride, its a little old. Took this last year after a good washing due to a road trip here in WA while i was stationed here.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Its sooooo quiet, where do you guys normally hang out at as in Forums. Also are there any third gen clubs in the Tulsa area or just even Camaro/Firebird clubs around? there were a few in WA state while i was stationed there but never got a chance to get to attend anything, id like to meet up with some people if there are any here since i'm carving myself a new niche down here.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
Local forums around here aren't great anymore. COFBA went under, but I think there is a Tulsa Camaro/bird club. Also OKGMP is statewide.
Also, for the junkyard crowd, Pull-a-part has a 1991 Firebird, mostly there. Blue, v6, gfx (missing front), no carpet or dash pad, but everything else is there. I took the factory cd player for $10
LKQ has trashed Camaros, no birds.
Of course, both yards have tons of 4th Gen v6s, but LKQ has an LT1 mostly complete.

If anyone is looking for a torque arm I have one listed in the South Central Classifieds. Would rather sell it local to keep from shipping.

Re: The Oklahoma Thread
I hope any 3rd Gen owners in the Tulsa area are aware of the cruise night at Fudruckers every Tuesday 5:00 pm to dark, located at 71st and Hwy 169. Always lots of 1st Gen Camaros so it would be nice if more 3rd Gen cars showed up. Mine is a 1985 IROC, black with red decals and interior. Only 9500 original miles, so if you want to see how they left the factory this is a good one to study. Look for me at Fudruckers most Tuesdays.
