July 25th, 2009, at Bear Creek Park in Katy, TX, from 2:00pm - dark....

Hello all, it's time to start getting the ball rolling on the first major get together in 2 years!

I need all of you to add your input on the debate of the who, when, where, and hows....

I've organized, helped organize, and have attended all of the major Houston area Thirdgen meets for the last 10 years or so. So with that said, I'm strongly suggesting the following based on the results of the biggest turnouts in the past....

I suggest:

Location - Bear Creek Park (in Katy, TX) "This place seems to work better for the majority, plus they have BB-Q pits"

Date - On a Saturday probably in July (what do you guys/gals think?)

Time - Arrive by 2:00 pm, start BB-Q at 3:30, stay till dark or slightly before

When the time get's closer, I'll start a separate post for the BB-Q (where people will sign up to bring an item or two) you guys know the drill..... We always end up having a great BB-Q and there has always been WAY more food than we all can stuff in our faces!

If enough interest is shown, maybe we'll make T-shirts for the event like Craig has done twice in the past. (All members are strongly urged to pre-pay if we have some shirts made, Craig got stuck with a few extra shirts one year that he had to cover out of his own pocket, not cool). But, just an idea.

This means that all of you need to get it in gear, if possible, to have your cars running by then. Then more importantly SHOW UP!

Once the details are finalized, there will also be a rain-date (just in case)... which will be the following Saturday, like we always do.

Out of town or out of area thirdgenner's are always welcome to attend our gathering!

It's been awhile since I've seen many of you, especially with the disaster our town had last year, so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, especially those who have disappeared (I need help tracking them down).... like Barry, Fatal-88, and many others. Some other members that have been gone for a long time, I've been able to track down and it will be cool to see them and their cars again!

If all goes as planned, it will be good show!

Im in, after may 13th im out of school for summer so the meet must be after the 13th! preferrably a bit after so i have time to tidy the car up for the meet

and then before the middle of august when school starts again!

For July, I'd prefer 11th or 28th, but could manage 4th (Holiday?) or 25th.

Usually the weekend after the 4th of July is better as less people tend to be out at parks,resorts,etc. Whatever day you decide will be fine by me Mike, I'll be there.

looking forward to a big meet...I will be there. Hopefullty the car will be ready.

My car is being re-done (restored) by bruce at hawks thirdgen in SC.
getting a magnacharged ls1, six speed, moser 9", paint job, bear breaks, 18" Boze rims and a bunch of other crap. The originall plan was to have it ready by the end of the summer but he is moving really fast, so who knows.

I'm going to try to talk my boss into trailering his 1991 1-LE to the meet. It has 170 miles with the window sticker still in the window. The car still smells new inside!

It's my hope to make it Mike. If I can finish up wiring this weekend (really close to being done), I'll have the A/C, coolant plumbing, vacuum, and exhaust/tune to go. One of these days that engine you helped sell me is going to power a car

I've been trying to sell the car and I will probably be moving to New York City, where cars are really not needed.

Well, I should be picking up LS1LE's 91 RS sometime tomorrow, and in all my time on TGO I've never been to any of the meets, so count me in for this one!!

Slave One - "Congrats on the new ride" ! Chris is a buddy of mine and I'm the one who posted it for sale here on TGO. It's a good car. Now all I have to do is keep bugging him to get his white 92 1-LE back on the road in time for the meet!

I did request it to be unstickied because I have a habit of not checking the sticky area, but I always check the top few threads in this forum. I figured that more people might do the same, so I think it will have better visibility this way.

i will seriously consider this. it'll be a couple hour drive for me though. i'm in the beaumont area. i just bought the car a couple months ago and its not the best looking rs around. i still have a lot of work to do, but its running plenty good enough to get there and back.
