I might be moving to florida for a new job in Boca Raton. If I do go I want to know what you guys think of the area. About the only thing I am kind of scared of is the heat, which I have heard is terrible from time to time. what are the emission laws there? how expensive is housing? Any answer would be of tremendous help.

hey my howntown is stuart right by there. this is what i know...it is really busy and really really hot. people arent the nicent lol but you get used to it. the secluded areas are pretty nice if you can find one. stay away PSL (port saint Luice) it has been really bad lately with drugs and hookers and things. houses and property is getting really expensive ,my family sold there house that we bout for 55 thousand for 120 thousand about 4 years ago and now its even more i was told it was aprrasied for 200 thousand i was down about 4 months ago and it was really busy... people can be mean but there are alot of people there that are nice if you give them a chance. the beach is pretty nice. it is a beautiful place if you can with the heat im sure i made it sound worse probley then it is....it really is nice and you get used to the heat just wear white and shorts till you get used to it lol. good luck

Thank you for the info man, I greatly appreciate it. The job is actually in Boca Raton, but with 1300 a month in rent I found W. Palm a little more liveable. Most places I found there average 700-1000 a month. This sucks consitering I am living in a 2 bedroom here in KS and paying 375.

Nice area, my mom lives in Rivera Beach.. There are some SERIOUSLY shady areas that remind me of Detroit suburbs.. but other than that, beautifull place to live. Congradulations =]

LOL...You make PSL sound like the crime capitol of the world! I moved from The Bronx, NY to PSL 3 years ago and I love it here. Havent been mugged yet and I cant seem to find those damn hookers anywhere...Can you tell me where I can get one?

Seriously though, the heat can be a real bitch in the summertime, but the rest of the year the weather cant be beat...

Now if we could just organize some of these Third Gens we have down here, that would really rock.

I'm in Broward County, city of Coral Springs (about 20min. away from Boca). I work in West Palm though.
Yeah it's nice down here, just get ready for some serious traffic and I hope your a/c works!
I haven't been to Morroso Speedway yet, but I'm going soon to get a stock beseline for the 'bird I bought a few months ago.
If you need a mechanic, I'v got some friends here in Broward that I have do all the work I'm not willing/capable of doing in my garage.
Ft. Lauderdale Beach rocks on the weekends and there are reservations here and even a Hard Rock Cafe.
Lookin' foward to seeing more third genners here!

hey morroso when i went a couple years ago was kool it is really was a nice place last time i saw it. i even saw a jst school bus and a 3 let engined semi that set the annoument tower on fire and blew out the glass now they has shutters that come down when the jet cars come out. my dads friend went to drag race his 91 iLE there when he first bought once or twice he still has it but is was rearend now he is in the process of fixing, its a great place have fun
