Nice! I'd love to have a 2nd gen T/A. I will try to make the Plant City car show this month, I don't know if I have that day off or not, but I can try and switch for a morning shift.

I'm not in Tampa, but close(or not).
I live in Webster in Sumter county, but i'm going to school in Tampa 3 days a week. I've lived here for almost 3 years and have had my RS for about 2 years.

any good shows/events in the next few months coming?

Feb. 19th in Plant City. There is a car show there that I plan on attending. It's about 15-20 from Tampa. Usually there are 5-6 of us thirdgens there. Feb is a special month for us Pontiac guys though. They are having a special section for us due to Pontiac ending.

I have a friend that just moved out of dover that i used to carpool with to school, and i know plant city is right down 60 more or less. Where is this car show usually held at in plant city?

My car is currently not show quality, but i would enjoy meeting fellow TGO members and seeing more third gens

Cool, the more, the better. Well, it does usually get harder to get parking spots together.
It's held downtown. They close almost all parking in the downtown area for this monthly event. Also, none of our cars are show quality.

Well its good that you guys are trying to get the third gens together.
since there is gonna be a pontiac section, im trying to get my dad to bring his(really bad condition) T37 down there. he just works too much and we are tight on money or it woulda been restored by now. I actually just printed out an app for Ovehaulin, because the car badly needs to be restored.

If you find out about any more meets i will definately try to make it. We need more exposure cause apparently the 3rd gen is the lost generation, lol.

You actually may have seen my car around dover, red 89 RS with bad paint up top, lol.

I don't think so, i'm usually eye balling every third gen that passes by me. I have seen a red one running around here but if I remember right, the paint and body was in pretty decent shape.
There is also a camaro, white with black stripe of some sort on the hood, t-tops, aftermarket wheels. Looks nice. I've seen it driving on I-4 both times in the Plant city area but i'm always driving the Lumina whenever I see it.

Hey WILLIE, were you driving down 92 near Branch Forbes the other morning(Tuesday I believe?) It was probably 8:45-9am. I saw a reddish Camaro similar to the one in your signature. The driver(possibly you) had their hoody over their head and tightened. 32deg cold? No way. I was driving my Bird.

Well for that show the Camaro is going to sit out. Bringing the mini van since it's the Pontiac. Can't let you birds have all the fun.

Also what are you talking about are cars aren't show quality! Mine is a multiple trophy winner! Even though I may of got them since I was the only one in my class. But that's beside the point! lol.

Also I know it's quick notice. But there is a car show at the Wiregrass mall in Wesley Chapel tomorrow at 9am. Are local F-body club is going to meet at the Publix parking lot across the street at 8:30am so all the f-body's can roll in and park together. And It would be nice to have some more third gens to keep me company while I sit next to all the loser 4th gens and there God motors. lol. The entry to the show is free. But they do ask you to bring at least one unopened toy for the toy drive they are doing. And they are doing awards. So bring your A game! Need to show people us third gens are alive and strong! If it had a flat black hood it was most likely me. Around that time i was on my way to ITT next to the airport for class. I think the road you said i was on is known as "The Shortcut" for people at my school who want to avoid malfunction junction, lol.

I have class Tues. Wed. and Friday mornings from 9 to around 1.

The sun was in my eyes...I just know the car was reddish, don't know about the hood. Also saw the driver with the hoody on. Malfunction Junction.......hmmm....you mean MLK(574) and Parsons?? That intersection is horrible. The only airports I know of is in Tampa, and the one on Airport Rd. across from a Military Station(Plant City.) The road I said you were on is HW92, Branch Forbes/92 has the Autozone on one corner and Advance Auto on the other corner....then 2 gas stations on the other 2 corners.

LOL. I know exactly which intersection you are referring to, 92/Branch forbes. Ironically, I was at that intersection, but not at that time, Also I was carpooling with my friend who drives a taurus stationwagon.

Malfunction Junction=Where I-4 and 275 meet going southbound, I used to sit in bumper to bumper traffic there for at least 30 min until I found out about "the shortcut". Now I quite enjoy passing everyone on 275 SB while on a 25mph road, ROFL.

What's this shortcut you found out about? Luckily my job takes me northbound on 275 from I-4 so I never have to deal with that. Then in the afternoon when I get off work I go southbound(whereas north now has traffic.) Works out great. Branch/92 is somewhat bad. If your making a left turn you really have to watch the light and take off before the person who is on coming can react.
We should set something up for January.

I'll try to describe it. Coming down 275 SB, the exit right after the I-4 exit, Downtown exit. It goes to the right while 275 goes left under the overpass.
Stay in the right lane all the way down the road and you come to a stop sign. Left at the stop sign, follow the road under 275 and make a right towards the drawbridge at the next intersection. Right after the bridge there are pretty nice S-turns then you come to a light. It will probably stay red for a minute. Keep going straight down that road until you can only make a right or left. If you go straight, you go into a business. Make a right turn there, go straight through the first light then make a left turn at the next light. If you keep going straight you can either get onto 60 and goto Veterans Expwy or memorial, or go to the airport. Our school is right on memorial.

If there isn't heavy traffic on 275, then it will probably be quicker to take 275.
There are a few stop signs on "the shortcut", but when 275 is backed up, it will cut some time off your trip. The road you go straight on, goes parallel right next to 275.

If we set something up in January, hopefully I will be getting this part time job while I'm in school and I'll def try to make it

No cost to park, or get in. We are going to have dinner at Freds Restuarant,(corner of Alexander and MLK) @ 4pm, then cruise over to the show. Where we park all depends on how many people are there before us, sometimes we're in the parking lot of Suntrust Bank or the parking lot at the corner of MLK and Wheeler St.


PS my car is still a turd gen in looks, faded original blue, and black primer.

Definately going to the february show though, unless there are other shows between now and then. Still looking for a job at the moment, hopefully I'll get one between now and then, lol.

YO. 813 area here also. from Riverview down to Gandy. Anyone ever go down to throw down at the sunshine dragstrip? So far only me and a buddy with our 3rd's show up every month on the "street heat" nights once a month to play with the hondas. NEED TO GET A NIGHT WHERE WE ACTUALLY OUTNUMBER THEM!!! hope this page is frequently visited, kinda sounds like a ball at the drag track if it happens.

I believe the next "street heat" night is May 21, Ill be there in a red 87' coupe and a buddy (jason) in a teil 92' RS. You should try to make it out there

My buddy jason got on the track and did 11.02 at 62 mph, slow, yes but enough to beat the honda (majority) by 2 seconds
Its fun race or watch, 10 bucks gets you in the gate period, sign a card and you can go down the track as many times as you want

same here, i got a bit of a gas leak coming from my quadrajet. haven't quite pin pointed the source yet but ill pull a pass or two also. Im usually parked on the return side so if any other third gens are there you cant miss the red camaro with blue and red headlights flashing like cop lights and a teil one with blue lights. We hope to see a few folks out there!!

The Tampa area is doing something bi-weekly. Also many other members in the Tampa area that I haven't met but are usually doing something.
There are quite a few of us here. Look at the Merritt island thread in the events section. Several of us will be heading over there for a meet with people in different parts of Florida.

Life Happens... Been saving up for a house since July... closed on it December 28th, now I have a garage with my bird in it (was paying to have it stored some where else)... Still fixing / buying stuff for the new house (garage door $600+)...

I got new fuel injectors from SouthBay, need to install and retune with EBL Flash... then of course, tons more work, but hopefully, it will be reliable to run
